Some get built eventually but it can take several years between planning board approvals and construction financing and permits. Especially if they redesign it again. Those eventually happen, but COVID messed things up.

For others, yes they are scheming to get wealthy without having any actual plans to build. Buy a forgotten site for like $250K, put together plans and get planning/zoning approval for a big tower, and then sell it for $5 Million saying “Fully Approved for a 25 story tower”

The after photo is taken from that bridge (or it’s replacement to maintain the cross street) seen in the middle of the before photo. You can see the same buildings in the background. This makes the rounds on historical building subs making people think that they got rid of the modernist buildings on the left. So it would send the wrong message

It’ll be close. Should be okay if the plane is on time. Get your bag downstairs and the local bus picks up at the doors of the terminal. The 62 bus seems to take 17 minutes now at 7 PM on Sunday to go from the airport terminal to Newark Penn. Most of the Greyhound and other long distance buses are at Newark Penn by the taxi plaza. It doesn’t give much wiggle room for waiting for the transit bus, late flights, or traffic so plan a backup. A waiting taxi would be faster than Uber

It’s been closed all through COVID and very recently reopened. Mostly food takeout and the occasional actual retail. Runs on the second floor through the complex and connects directly to Newark Penn through skybridges
