Something Arcology? I played this in middle school on the Mac at my history teacher’s class room during lunch.

Too many trees to get approved in Newark unfortunately

What's wrong with trees?

sutisuc t1_j7pqeu2 wrote

Nothing. Trees are a net positive. Unfortunately Newark city government and too many newarkers don’t recognize their utility

Seriously- The ammount of trees that used to be outside Technology Highschool or on broadway in general that have either💀 or got taken down sucks.

Ohh, I misread your original comment. Now it makes sense. I agree, the more trees the better.

I played Sim City 2000 on PC a long time ago. Not sure if it was ported or not.

I just picked up Simcity 3000 Unlimited off GOG.com. The nostalgia is giving me all the feels.

Good ole Sim City 2000 , used to play that game when I was young back in the late 90s...then SC3000 and then onto Sim City 4 which I still play today. SC4 turned 20yrs old a few weeks ago and has over 30,000 custom assets you can download.. Would be nice if someone from this Subreddit could create some Urban Jersey buildings. Only one has made and that is 30 Hudson Street in Jersey City.

Wow, used to play SC4 as a kid, didn't realize there was still an active community playing it. Might have to pick it up again.

It's finally stable enough to play for hours on end without crashing and there's a program that enables you to play on higher resolutions and adds auto save. The network addon mod is updated every few months and adds 100+ new bridges , new tunnels , new highways , light rail , high speed rail , new crosswalks , wide intersections , long multi tile commuting , you can force sims to commute by transit or by car or 50/50.

Oh man, that sounds great, I'm getting hyped just thinking about the possibilities now. Thanks for telling me about it!

I now have the amount of downloads I dreamed of when I was playing in the early 2000s. Just make a post on r/simcity4 about the must-have downloads , programs etc...
