Yea that certainly seems useful but it also sounds like a mix of search engine and chatgpt. MSs updates to bing might be able to do that?

Probably depends on field? I’ve not typically encountered this and most other researchers are going to be looking at dozens of papers at least so they really don’t want to actually have to dig into a paper to find the meat

I really like chatgpt but i typically find the abstract good enough to summarize the paper

Thanks for the link! Yea a lot of those did come true. I recall one about room temperature super conductors and several about flying cars. I think there were a few about fusion but that topic seems to really be making some progress lately

I’d be fine running the model on my own hardware, but that probably won’t happen

That’s a great example of when robots are a good choice to replace humans (though i assume supervised by a surgeon, maybe even remote if they can’t be physically present). Glad your uncle is doing well. Yay for technology

The robot they made to do the hole drilling is sick. I’d trust that more then some doctor with shaky hands

Reply to comment by DerivingDelusions in When does an individual's death occur if the biological brain is gradually replaced by synthetic neurons? by NefariousNaz
New neurons are created and integrated into the neuronal network during learning and memory formation
So there is an existing mechanism in the brain to accommodate changes, but we don’t understand how outright replacement would work since there isn’t an existing biological process to reference

I think in this specific example it is because they didn’t do any experiments. Conclusion in the abstract is rather superfluous (do more research, ya think?)
