"Karens" implies middle aged women.

This is not that.

This is a coordinated attack by organized conservative groups in order to drum up publicity and engagement, likely for an election that's coming up in your area. There might be a bond issue for the library that will be on the ballot that they want voted down.

Whatever the issue, they are trying to rile up the conservative base with a red herring about what's available at the library.

Instead of blaming this on unseen women, put the blame where it belongs - on the wider, organized conservative political action groups that are so well funded that they have the time and money to focus on random public libraries throughout the country

Are you sure he was really watching it? More than likely he clicked on something and it was a virus that loaded it on there.

I doubt your elderly grandpa who doesn't even know how to use his phone knows how to find porn, especially in a country where it's illegal. It's really easy to accidentally download a virus that spams it onto your device if you don't know what you're doing.

Hard pass. I don't deal with amateur detectives, gossip hounds and fanbois and girls who think they have either guilt or innocence figured out. Makes me ill. These people forget there are real victims and families out there who don't need to see their loved one casually tossed around like this. The speculation is tiresome. Everyone forgets about the victims.

Thank you for bringing it to my attention that this is obviously a big case. I'll look into the facts of the case elsewhere, however.

I think this just came out in the last couple of days, so don't feel like you're out of the loop or anything.

Adobe is becoming like the Amazon of design. They are acquiring everything, and unfortunately, we can't do our jobs with it. They acquired a major SaaS company, and now they're running wild with the subscription model.

Last week was the Adobe MAX conference, and they've now structured it so that all the good sessions are in person, and the virtual sessions I attended were absolute crap.

I've been an Adobe user since Illustrator88, but I feel like they've just jumped the shark at this point.

This just happened recently. Adobe and Pantone decided that if you open a file, no matter how old, that contains a PMS color, it will show as black unless you pay a monthly subscription for it to show. Last I heard, it's like $21/month per color.

It doesn't matter if you're just an individual designer or even a school. This is obviously aimed at major corporations with major brands who will just pay it. But for everyone else, you will just see a black blob.

I haven't read the book, and the movie was okay, but it bothers me that the premise of these kinds of stories are based on the debunked notion that we only use "10% of our brains" and that we have some hidden superpower within us.

I know it's supposed to be science fiction, but too many people really believe that. It bugs me.

I'm so sorry. It's not you, it's not your fault. Your mother sounds like a very selfish person, who is blaming her own failure as a mother on you.

Nothing anyone says it's going to make you feel better, but I'm a mom, and I'm giving you a long distance hug in place of your mom. I wish you well. Please know this is not your fault. Please try to look up.
