Yeah enjoy fighting against the character you made up.

I’m just here to tell you you’re objectively wrong about green space nyc and that you have some frankly hilariously deranged ideas about the way Dutch colonies were run.

You’re not being realistically critical and I’ve told you why. You’re suggesting that you can rebut empiric evidence with your opinion, and I’m afraid that’s not how it works.

You’re a disgruntled Marxist with an axe to grind and you’re annoyed when your sweepingly hyperbolic, ahistorical, and entirely made-up statements are challenged. There are plenty of places where you can get away with that kind of thing but this isn’t one of them.

Nah just peeved and skeptical of anyone who trashes my city while ludicrously yearning for an imaginary pre-capitalist 17th century utopia under the auspices of the colonial Dutch, who literally invented capitalism, largely in New Amsterdam and at that exact moment in history, and also claims NYC has no green space when it has over 7,000 square feet of parks and green space per capita, the most for any North American city with over 3 million people.

I’m sorry you hate it here to much. Leave.

The Dutch invented capitalism and New Amsterdam / New York was created as its avatar. Literally every single “great city” in the world is a crucible of capitalistic enterprise.

Please leave NYC and send us a postcard from Pyongyang or whatever awesome spot you end up.

It would be much worse. Bridgeport abuts against the Gold Coast so there are several lovely upscale neighborhoods near the Fairfield border. Bridgeport is also on the seaside so has a charming shoreline and ocean breezes. New Haven without Yale would make Bridgeport look like Westport by comparison.

I mean, not defending any social status-based prioritization of healthcare services, but prioritizing a “major trustee” of the university is not just “favoring the rich”. A Board of Trustees is the top governing structure of a university. People who serve on it have made a major, sustained commitment of money, time, and effort to advancing the school’s interests and stature. This isn’t just a case of “this guy is rich let’s give them better healthcare”. This is more along the lines of “look sharp the boss is here”.

A little weird to move to either of those towns if you have no kids. Major family communities with high property taxes to pay for good schools.

If you like that area, Black Rock (which is technically Bridgeport) is right next to Fairfield except way cheaper, and Norwalk is next to Westport at a fraction of the price.

Half the reason to live in Westport is the schools. If that’s not a consideration, you’re just paying insane property taxes to subsidize other people’s kids. Also, Westport isn’t really an option unless you’re prepared to buy at $1M+. Even if you buy an apartment or townhouse or find a great deal, fitting in in Westport is tough unless you’re seriously wealthy.

This is hilarious nonsense.

The ranking is based off of frequency of internet searches of the terms “stress” “anxiety” and “depression”.

All this indicates is that people in Connecticut are taking care of their mental health and are self-aware enough to recognize signs of various types of psychological strain. If anything, this makes us less likely to be stressed and more likely to be happy and actualized.

How do they get away with publishing this shit?
