A new mod went on a ban bender after instituting a new colorblind policy "thou shalt not talk about race" commandment. A lot of his replies to dissenters were unhinged and seemed like vaguely racist dog-whistles. A POC asking if a certain area was safe to live in got banned, which enraged many members (rightfully so). The aforementioned mod went mod shopping in a separate sub and brought the drama they created here to a different sub; he still managed to hire another mod, then employed some weird bots (one was meant to block hentai, weirdly). They also took down very obviously MA related posts for being unrelated to MA. And lots more besides...

Ex mod is now publicly licking their wounds and complaining they've been thrown under the bus. Refusing to admit any wrongdoing and claiming that people were exploiting a Reddit bug to edit his posts or some such nonsense.

It was a real shit show, to say the least.

In Worcester: either Ralph's or Armsby Abbey.

Depends on my mood.

A bit outside of Woo: Brickstone Kitchen in Sutton, just past Lenny's on 146. Absolutely phenomenal burger... probably the best one in south county. Mac Smash burger features a fried mac n cheese ball. Their meatballs are also ridiculously good. Great beer selection too.

That's a good place to be from, I suppose, lol. I'm from SJ, tho I used to work in Palo Alto and in Los Altos, had a lot of customers from the Park (I was in auto repair).

Lots of the same type of people in Menlo Park. The Peninsula was definitely the worst of tech culture with all the heavy hitters being there.

I'm glad to be here, but I miss nicely paved roads.

Otaku Sekai in the Auburn mall, anime merch/gaming, they also have a lounge for movies, Japanese snacks, and books. You might see folks in cosplay.

That's Entertainment has a good sized manga selection, but they have their hands in every collectibles market, so space is their limiting factor- US comic books take up half of the space and the selection is fantastic. It's one of the coolest shops in Central Mass, if not THE coolest. It's a must visit.

Great Stories in Whitinsville has some anime/manga merch and some of the best prices on back issues. Great selection of newer comics, tons of games. I go here a lot, nicest people, clean store, well organized.

The Green Dragon in Rhode Island. Absolute gem. Worth the drive, especially this time of year.

Superworld Comics, out towards Holden. I've never been.

Crazy4Comics, in Northborough, mostly US comics, prices are hit or miss, not exactly organized. Big selection for a small shop. Expect to dig thru bins and stacks, then haggle. Very old school experience, geared towards the fervent collector that loves the hunt.

Hall of Comics in Westborough, the exact opposite of Crazy4Comics. Well organized, modern, good prices, friendly staff, almost exclusively filled with back issues. They have the largest selection of investment quality, graded/slabbed comics in the area. There's some legendary stuff in there. Like a museum but everything is for sale. Almost exclusively US comics- I don't remember seeing any manga.

Anime Zakka in Boston too, but it's a drive. I've never been.
