I dont think this is true. Your reference was posted in 2015, so thats why you wouldn't have any of the newer buildings. But jersey city has been granting abatements since then and many run for decades from now. Examples below:

(A 2022 construction project loses its previously-granted 20 year abatement after inactivity)

(Tax abatement until 2040 for Crystal Point)

(The new Haus25 has an abatement until 2047)

Ah man we are seriously thinking of moving to vyv because they seem the most sane downtown pricing (probably because they're not directly or indirectly owned by Ironstate Development Company or Veris Residential, unlike essentially all other downtown places).

The rest of downtown jersey city has, in all instance I know of, over 10% increases this year.

I have been seeing this so incredibly frequently around the intersection of Greene St and 2nd St.

It's only a matter of time until a car or delivery bike gets hit...

I dont necessarily disagree. Shit happens. But figure it out before we sat 10 minutes in an allegedly broken train that worked well enough to get us to hoboken (where the path notoriously sits egregiously long for no reason).

This state collects $51 billion in tax revenue (https://www.nj.com/politics/2022/05/nj-will-collect-a-whopping-51-billion-in-tax-revenue-this-year-analysts-say.html). And has public infrastructure that competes with second world countries. It is beyond unacceptable.

Electric bicycles traveling at or above the speed limit (as many do) should be in the street to begin with. Not in bike lanes.

The answer to this specific problem is not more bike lanes, but to treat the functional equivalent (at least in urban traffic) of motorcycles as motorcycles.
