On the other hand, I rented a nice 2br/1ba from them in the Fan for under $1200 just a couple of years ago. So I’m not sure it’s accurate to say they’re more expensive across the board.

ETA when I say “a couple of years ago” I mean that I moved out in 2022.

One time (before I lived in Richmond) I was flying from NYC to Raleigh and we almost ran out of fuel because of headwinds, so we had to make an emergency landing at RIC. It took so long to refuel the plane that we weren’t allowed to take off again because it was after midnight. Some people tried to rent cars to get home but it was so late none of the car rental places were open. Finally the airline chartered us a bus to get us to Raleigh. It was hilariously dumb.

She used the gas, so she is responsible for it. If she doesn’t pay it, she saddles the former account holder with the balance and that sucks. She never asked for the service to be put in her name, but if it were off, she’d have no heat. (How someone could not know what kind of heat they have in a house they BOUGHT is pretty incredible to me.) It’s wild to me that you or she could think there’s any other answer besides “pay the outstanding bills for the service I used and get the account switched to my name.”

If there was an outstanding balance when she closed on the house, nothing before that date is her responsibility. After that, though, it is.

This is an extremely strange and aggressive post. Call the company and report the worker if you feel the need, but this doesn’t require some weird community-wide call to action.

ETA you are absolutely being petty.

Not a lawyer. Is it speeding or reckless driving? If reckless driving, I’d be sure to get an attorney because it’s a misdemeanor that carries the (unlikely) possibility of jail time and/or a big fine. From what I’ve heard, it’s likely to cost you a few hundred to $1000, but others may have a better perspective on that. What folks have said about asking for driving school is solid advice regardless of whether it’s reckless or just a regular speeding ticket.
