Our family has lived in this area for 20+ years. Close to the hospitals; close to downtown; easy public transportation.

Biggest downside might be getting to South County beaches in the summer. However, RI has a lot of beaches šŸ˜‰.

The Graduate Hotel aka The Biltmore is 100+ and there were stories involving a suicide from the 40ā€™s, I think.

Itā€™s New Englandā€¦ every other house is ā€œhauntedā€. My kids still talk about ā€œthe little girl who livesā€ in our bathroom window. Maybe try private rental?

Thereā€™s also the site of Dudley Town in CT, not too far. Dudley Town, CT

Edit 2: MA is home to some defunct mental institutions that may make for tense footage.

Also in Washington park. We've been here for 21 years now and have had very little issues. Again, mostly nuisance stuff - bikes or packages.

We've never had an issue with major theft or damage of any kind. We *do* have dogs and I think they can be a deterrent, but we've been very happy here.

We had to show proof that we had vehicles registered to the property we have the homestead act with. Registration requires proof of address which links everything.

Keene, NH used to do a pumpkin festival where the local folks all carved pumpkins.

I think they were in the Guinness Book of World Records for a few years.

All real. All hand-carved. Was super impressive.

Oh. Also free. I think they did money from concessions vs. tickets. However, just one weekend vs a whole month.
