My SMSL VMV D1 runs pretty warm even when idle, too.

clown core is great! No need to be embarrassed. You're welcome to follow me, here's my profile. Lots of other good/weird stuff in there.
I don't know how much noise music you've heard, but this live piece from Otomo Yoshihide is fantastic. I love seeing how the sounds get made, something you really miss when listening to a recording instead of seeing it live.

Some stuff I've been real into, in no particular order. I have a wide taste in music and enjoy difficult things, so, fair warning.
- Dawn of Midi: Dysnomia. Jazz that sounds like trance techno.
- Fartbarf: Dirty Power. Electronic; vintage synths with live drums.
- Charles Bradley: No Time for Dreaming (RIP). Soul. If you don't listen to a single other thing on my list, go check out his cover of Stay Away; it's fantastic.
- The DROiDS: The Droids. Alternative/indie/darkwave.
- Igorrr: Nostril. Hard to put a genre on, they self-describe as "baroquecore." The soul of the thing is, I guess, experimental operatic breakcore extreme metal.
- Osamu Kitajima: Benzaiten. 70s Japanese psychedelic folk rock.
- Thy Catafalque: Vadak. Hungarian operatic folk metal.
- Against Evil: End of the Line. Thrash metal from India.
- Converter: Coma. Powernoise.
- Controlled Bleeding: Larva Lumps and Baby Bumps. Experimental / noise rock.
- Doomtree: No Kings. Rap.
- clown core: van. Hard to put a genre on this, just give it a listen. If you like it, check out their music videos.

I went through three pairs of SE215s, the non-removable cable broke after a little more than a year on every pair. The warranty is one year. Never again.
