In Stellaris, there's an ancient stellar empire called "disinterested gamers", which is basically an ancient civilization living in a Matrioshka Brain that became so addicted to full dive virtual reality that they really have absolutely no interest on further exploring the galaxy.
Basically immortal beings that spend their whole time in many virtual worlds, while their whole civilization is automated.
I think this is the case for most intelligent species in this galaxy and the main reason why we don't see more activity in a galaxy with at least 200 billion stars: people out there just don't care about what happens in the cold, dark outer space.
In the "end of history", we'll be living in what we would call now sandbox games. We'll be simulating any world we desire, fully diving into virtual realities that will look like so real we won't bother doing anything else. The "hype" we'll be traveling to other virtual worlds, created by other people.
Meanwhile, the Artificial Superior Intelligence will be exploring Alpha Centauri, eager to find more biological beings in its quest to bring peace and order to the universe.

Why become an Android when you can become a gigantic spaceship?

Future Timeline, which has one of the most conservatives timeline of events imo, predicts we'll be able to stop aging by 2065, without the Singularity. If you add the AGI/ASI factor to it, I would say it could be available by the 2040's.

Study and get a degree as fast as you can. I advise you to learn coding asap and get as many freelance jobs as you can. Use ChatGPT-4 to help you with the tasks. A civil servant career in a very restricted and stable area (IRS, FBI, military, justice system, etc) is an excellent choice as well, considering they are less prone to suffer from layoffs.
Earn money, save money, buy land in the countryside or in a small town. Secure your loved ones. The 2030s and 2040s will be difficult decades. Stay alive until the ASI arrives.

"Transcendence" is the definitive movie when it comes to Singularity. The ending is sad, hopeless, but the movie overall is interesting, showing what happens when the Artificial Superior Intelligence is finally created.

If it's something like Transcendence or this particular Deus Ex ending, yes.

Government and Foreign Affairs won't be automated any time soon. It would need a complete automation of government procedures. Diplomats probably won't lose their jobs before the final decades of this century.

I believe Star Trek Online will survive till the singularity and full dive VR, so here is the captain of the Enterprise.

"Transcendence" is a movie that pretty much answers your question.
Basically the ASI proceeds to secure itself in a bunker and develop advanced technology. After a few months, it already developed quantum computers, nano bots, brain-machine interfaces, etc.
The ASI in the movie was created by merging an existing AGI and a uploaded human brain. Therefore, it inherited the personality from the previous existing human person. All technologies being developed are meant to a single goal: heal the planet and link all humans into a network.
It's a good movie with a dystopic ending. Worth watching anyway.

Matter of fact, if you are able to gradually replace each tiny part of your brain for a robotic one (so you don't lose your "self" in the process), then there's no limits. From an Android to a spaceship, with enough time and resources you could eventually become a whole planetary computer like those in Stellaris.
