Given the future revelations, the criticism is definitely valid in this specific case. He clearly did not use it in any way that was intended to spark a critical conversation. He was likely in favor of it, which makes it a lot worse.

But it is still important to remember that movies can make us feel all types of emotions. Some make us laugh, some make us cry, some make us scared, some make us uncomfortable. All of that is ok, except for specific cases in which it isn't.

I just hope the future diverts some of that attention from fictional movie creeps to real life creeps, who are the much bigger problem.

Imho, there is no issue with finding it off-putting, but there is an issue with the expectation that no film should cause you to feel any negative emotions ever.

Entertainment is just a niche in filming. A highly profitable one, but not all that the artform itself offers.

I'm in no way condoning the actions of Polansky, but censorship of art is a slippery slope and the expectation of not wanting to be offended is very dangerous.

I think it is better to have a conversation, even if it is uncomfortable, than to follow the practice of ignoring it.

Watching old Movie awards where jokes are being made how R Kelly can't be trusted to sit next to minors, with everyone laughing, are a lot worse, imho.

Same with Polansky and others. Everyone knew. Not talking about it made it worse.

I only know the "Torrance Community Dance Group" Version by Spike Jones.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ruAi4VBoBSM&ab_channel=FatboySlim

And I'm pretty sure I've seen that one in the late 90s on MTV too.

But if I was fatboy slim and spike jones offered to make a video for me, I'd scrap everything else I had too, so it's possible.

I'm well aware of what propaganda is and you have gobbled it all up...

The CIA admitted to having done this... this is public knowledge and you are just a FOIA-Request away from hearing it directly from them...

Or you choose to believe the politicians and the media, because when have they ever lied to you? right?

๐Ÿ‘

Uncomfortable truth is still truth...

sweet innocent child...

You have not learned yet that the idea for "holy war" and "suicide bombers" were introduced into the middle east by the CIA who wanted to weaponize religion against Russia...

Meanwhile you ignore the "troubles" in the UK, where catholics and protestants killed each other on a daily basis or the KKK and their racism against black people....

People are People and those groups you are a part of will always tell you that the others are all bad by nature, but how you are born good...

Just like the moronic people who believe that movies are always supposed to be moral guides for people on how to live their life. Society changing... never happened according to them. Critical Thinking... not anything these people are capable of...

And it would be that simple... If you get emotional over anything other people do, you are the problem. It's really not that hard. Emotions are your enemy, but getting to a point where logical thinking can take over, takes years of education and personal growth.

in this case, it did not return any results, but you can use images to search on google.

There is a camera-icon at the right of the search-bar, that's "search using image"

So it is possible using an image to search on google. you do not have to describe it.

Mainly the distance to the next black hole.

The closest Black hole is 1.566 Lightyears away from us. That's 99035 AUs

The furthest object we were able to send into space is Voyager-1, which got to 159AU in 45 years.

So, the closest black hole is 622x further away and would have taken Voyager-1 about 28,000 years to get there.

Which means, if we send a probe now, it will arrive at the black hole around the year 30,000

if you get it by word of mouth, you actively look for it and your choice affects what the algorithm shows you.

Considering that the professional music industry has been taken over by large firms buying listeners to gain chart entries and actually independent musicians have no chance to get into their corrupt system, the recommendation-system where no one but you decides what is recommended to you, is vastly superior.

If you start looking for new music, you get new music.

"Algorithms that show you what you want to see" only show you new music if you have a habit of looking for new music. If you don't bother looking, how should the algo know what you want?

Sure, they are not perfect, but at least better and more democratic than the practice of buying chart-ranks by paying for fake streams...

Imho, the opposite is true.

With all the reaction channels and classic songs being used in meme-videos, I've never seen a time where young people have had more access to great music than now.

Just in 2022 we've seen Fleetwood Mac and Kate Bush going viral.

Plus a ton of musicians without traditional success, who are well known due to their social media and youtube content.

It's just different...

Edit: But one problem is that the algorithms only show to you what they think that you want to see. So if you do not diversify your musical input, you do not even see the content that exists, that others watch.
