I didn’t downvote them, but in my opinion they came off somewhat judgmental that I didn’t know how to sew lol. Guess what, in elementary school we did not learn how to sew. Not everyone has the same experiences as everyone else.

That seems a bit hyperbolic to me; sewing has never really been a needed skill for me and not knowing how to sew hasn't really impacted my life in any way. And even if I did know how to sew, I would still seek specific knowledge related to wool. Hopeless is probably the least relevant word to describe me, because of the fact that I'm aware of my ignorance.

I mean, I could certainly just do that if I wanted to lol. But since I have no knowledge of this thing I wanted to seek out that knowledge because my desire is to repair it as good as I feasibly can, and I don't know what I don't know.

Something like Tear Mender sounds like a good option. I think what happened is that the corner of the blanket touched the fire ever so briefly and a few of those threads may have burnt away. I thought it only touched the fire for a split second and I wouldn't have thought that enough to do this, but who knows.

Yes; it grinds my gears when I’m passing someone at a reasonable rate of speed and some dumb fuck gets right on my ass despite this. And not only that but I won’t immediately change lanes in front of someone when I’m done passing them; I’ll wait until I’m at least 3’ish car lengths ahead of them for safety’s sake, and so they won’t feel like I’m cutting them off. But people don’t even think about this shit; it doesn’t even cross their mind. It’s hard for me to believe the degree to which people don’t think, in general. But it is what it is so I can’t get too mad at someone who’s simply following their nature lol.

Which, presumably, is something that happened during shipping, thus likely no big deal? It seemed to happen a bit on the other side as well; perhaps just a defect in the seal on this package. My concern was predicated in it being exposed for an unknown period of time in a warehouse or whatever

Haha no I haven’t taken it out yet; I took pause when I opened the box and saw it like this because I was concerned that perhaps it might’ve been exposed to something bad while sitting around the warehouse in this condition (like bugs, etc.) But maybe it tore in shipping and maybe even if it’s been torn for awhile in the warehouse like this it’s no big deal if it looks ok

I of course don’t know when the package ripped but I guess my only concern is if it sat like that in the warehouse for awhile, could that be a problem as far as bugs/moisture/etc. might be concerned or should it not make any real difference since the zippered bags they come in aren’t exactly airtight anyways?

I don't see it as hiding from reality. I see it as accepting reality. I don't see optimism and realism as mutually exclusive concepts.

Easy for me to say having not endured a fraction of the percentage of hardship that some have, but so far I think I've done pretty well in this regard.
