I don’t have the internal narration, voice in my head, or whatever it is that most other people seem to experience when reading. I read quickly, I guess, but my retention suffers. The details of a book leave my brain when I’m done reading it, ha ha!

I use regular Goo Gone and it works fine for me. I use the tiniest amount- mine is in a spray bottle and I just use one spray on the cloth. I’ve also heard that you can soften the adhesive on stickers by using a hair dryer to blast warm air on them and that makes removal easier, but I’ve never tried that!

I’ve used Goo Gone for years and never had any staining. I gently peel as much of the sticker off as I can (I use an old hotel key card), then spray a little Goo Gone on a cotton cloth (not on the book) and wipe away any sticker residue, then wipe clean with another cloth. Works every time for me!

Hmmm. My TBR lists are several hundred books long each and I still keep buying even more books.

But seriously, don’t worry about it too much. If you do or don’t read from your list it’s all good, and as long as you’re not financially straining yourself buy whatever books you want. Relax and enjoy it!

Also bookshop.org always does a great job packing the books so they arrive in good condition! I had so many books from Amazon arrived all bent up from sliding around in the box during transit.

I am almost embarrassed at how little I use my library for my own personal reading! I use it for my kid frequently, and I love libraries in general, but I just don’t use it for myself.

My big problem is my library seems to never have what I want to read available when I want to read it. Anything even slightly popular has a wait list, physical or ebook. And by the time my hold has come in, I’m no longer in the mood for that book. And my library doesn’t usually have most of the books I’m interested in reading in the first place.

Book shopping/collecting is also just something I really enjoy, so I always have something to read at home anyway!

I’m still kind of figuring out what I want my challenge to be for the new year.

But one thing I absolutely have to get done: it’s time to get all the books out of the bookcase and sort, reorganize, and downsize the collection. My collection has outgrown the bookcase…again!

I usually end up reading about 60-70 per year (66 so far this year). I don’t set any goals based on number of books read, but sometimes I do participate in other reading challenges. My goal for this year was to get though some of the backlog of books I own!
