That would be a nightmare to keep the tunnels from flooding, like a massive engineering feat, even bigger than the big dig. Worcester is half built into the side of a mountain, and the other half is in a flood zone at the bottom of that mountain, which is heavily controlled by canals, levees and a massive city wide storm water drainage system. ( I mean we have a whole section of Worcester called the canal district, and we are not near any major rivers or the ocean lol)

I mean if we get 2inches of rain in an hour, most of Worcester turns up flash flooded. Now think about being 12ft underground lol

As someone who lives on a very popular cut through that saves you 10 seconds of waiting at a red light. I wholeheartedly agree with you. People fly down my street like it's a quarter mile in Fast and Furious.

I also had $6k worth of damage done to my parked car by a hit and run driver. Probably would have a minor dent if they werent going 40mph(caught it on my dash cam).

Since you live in the area, if might be worth calling the Worcester PDs non emergent phone number and asking if they can have Animal control do something. Typically unless there is other complaints they advise the owner to properly fence or leash the dog when it's outside.

I'm just like you, Its not that I dread the dentist, I just get super anxious when I go, I have no idea why. I highly recommend Feeley Dental. The dentist Matt Feeley is fantastic, and the hygienists actually care about you and are great too. Matt is very low liberal with numbing agents too, he just goes out of his way to ensure you are comfortable. You can just tell he takes passion in his patients and work.

It's located at 6 Mountain St E, Worcester, MA 01606.

So do you feel unsafe when the countless out of state cars who don't require inspections are driving around you? ... Some of those states even border us... Show me data that states like NH or OH have more traffic accidents per capita because of car mechanical issues and failures(strictly with vehicles registered in the state).

You should be more concerned with the fact that 70% of drivers on the road are either on their phone, have no idea the rules/laws of the road, are in SUVs or trucks but have no idea how to safely operate a large vehicle, aggressively driving, have unsecured loads, or are intoxicated/mental impaired? Or what about lack of DOT commercial inspections, lack of weight stations, failing bridges/overpasses everywhere, construction zones that have been going on for years, lack of DUI checkpoints or enforcements, major roads that give Jeeps a run for their money and the list goes on.

Also where is this money going? Over 2 million registered in MA, if only 1 million of those get their inspections stickers yearly that is 30million dollars. Not to mention other million dollar revenues streams like the Pike toll, registrations, excise tax and vehicle sales tax. Where the hell is all this going? Certainly not into the roads, you know to make them safer.

It's not about your safety...

No it's an FAA requirement that all planes from military(non combat) to your grandfather's prop plane to broadcast/transmit at a minimum their location(geo coordinates, altitude and speed), As well as your plane's tail ID number and planned route (but that's not always public). This is to avoid mid air collisions, and allow flight towers /FAA to direct air traffic. This is all done through a device in the plane, it can be turned off and on.

There are websites that collect all this data and that allow you to see all this data from your web browser. Just Google "air traffic radar map", and you'll see tons of options. ( I prefer flightradar24.com )

When the US government or military conduct operations they want kept out of the public eye, they have their planes turn off this, thus no longer "squawking" and invisible to just about everyone except themselves.

Their ads said it was their showroom, they were on ever street corner in eastern MA. Just Google Rotmans remodel 2021, all the articles say showroom. Not to mention their building is falling apart, not sure why that was neglected in the "remodel". And they're a publicly traded company now, have been since 2019. No way those board members are just going to let a "30mil a year" company just dissolve because a retiree got tired of running the business. They'll either turn into a e-commerce company or rebrand. Or in true Rotmans fashion, suddenly not be closing anymore.

Just to note I've never been inside or bought anything from them. However I have lived almost directly next to it for the better part of 6 years and have seen the shooty sales tactics they use first hand.

Personally having lived next to it for 6 years now, their parking lots has always had the same level of traffic. (besides a few months in 2020). However the amount of Rotmans delivery trucks has grown.. I have a feeling that they'll be turning into a online retailer only and "close" their show room floor.

I guess we'll see. Love to see what happens to the property though if they do completely close. Really hope it doesn't stay commerical but it probably will. This area is already busy enough.

Best advice I can give you is to visit the place/area during the day and later at night. Should give you a good idea of the area will be like. Also make sure the street isn't a cut through and is well lit, that can be annoying if you have on street parking.

You can also call the Worcester PD non emergent number and ask them. There are also resources online that will show you police reports / crimes for that street and area.

Keep in mind this is a city, so you'll always want to have your head on a swivel no matter what. But as cities go Worcester is far from the worst. (I use to live in Springfield).

Meanwhile they're handing out free cable and internet to everyone it seemed like. Had a guy from charter trying to sign people up for it at my apartment the other day, he was there looking for residents who pre-qualified. He asked me if I was any of them, then for help locating their apartments, and we got to talking. Basically anyone on any sort of government assistance can get free cable and internet right now. People in college/school also can get a reduced rate.

Meanwhile we get stuck with an $80month shit tier only internet plan.
