I hope not, but look around at all the breweries that have opened in the state in the last decade and all the ones being planned and they are all fighting for customers and shelf space. Pair that factor with the rising costs of materials and labor it's just not a surprise to see any of the smaller players go under to me.

See also: The marijuana market. Same shit's going to happen there, at some point, you have to assume, there are just so damn many of them in the state.

RIP Kenny Shopsin :(

Here's a passage from a New Yorker piece on him. The man was clearly the best kind of a menace and at the same time living the dream of anyone that's ever worked in a restaurant.

>"One evening, when the place was nearly full, I saw a party of four come in the door; a couple of them may have been wearing neckties, which wouldn’t have been a plus in a restaurant whose waitress used to wear a T-shirt that said “Die Yuppie Scum.” Kenny took a quick glance from the kitchen and said, “No, we’re closed.” After a brief try at appealing the decision, the party left, and the waitress pulled the security gate partway down to discourage other latecomers.

>”It’s only eight o’clock,” I said to Kenny.

>”They were nothing but strangers,” he said.

>”I think those are usually called customers,” I said. “They come here, you give them food, they give you money. It’s known as the restaurant business.”

>Kenny shrugged. “Fuck ‘em,” he said."

Fucking legend.

I have a dashcam and I can't even get law enforcement to be interested in getting video of people driving recklessly. I have a fucking clown on video doing about 65 miles an hour down the middle of my 35mph road in his 1-ton with a horse trailer on the back. Can't even get them to take the video on it. Face, plates, everything. Could have killed someone.... and they do it on a regular basis.

At this point I am pretty sure the police only utilize traffic safety laws to fuck with poor people.

Depends on a bunch of factors. Relative humidity. Temperature. Airflow. Volume of space.

If you don't want to work through insurance (which is why I assume you are in DIY) you have a few options but you have to move fast. Personally since it's grey water not black water, I would forgo a restoration company like ServPro and head down to your local equipment rental place and get one of their dehumidifiers and a big ass fan. Run those for 48 hours. If it were me I would also sample drywall with a moisture meter both before and after.

That's what ServPro/Octagon/restoration firm is going to do anyway. They might also tell you that they need to knock out the bottom foot of your drywall, which really isn't the case if it wasn't black water and you act now but that's what they'll tell you.

Eh just let 'em go on by. Sometimes I see the same truck or Subaru that sped past me like a fool stuck in a snowbank a few miles up the road. I don't stop. I have a tow rope, but I figure you're so smart that you got yourself stuck in a snowbank you must be smart enough to get out on your own.

And nothing of value was lost. Marden's was one thing 20, 30 years ago, selling surplus and salvage was one thing when most products, in general, were higher quality than today. Now everything they sell is insanely cheap Chinese-made trash that just happened to be salvage.

The only things worth buying there are tarps and carpet. Anything else you're getting ripped off by paying money for it at all.

Look Lodge makes a fine piece of cast iron. The finishing is a bit rough, which is done deliberately so it can be rapid-seasoned at the factory, but they work well enough.

If you want a truly excellent cast iron pan, you'll have to hit antique stores. Griswold, Wagner, Birmingham Stove, are some names to look for. Antique pans usually have machined surfaces and are cast thinner than modern pans. They'll season up better and are lighter and easier to work with. Lodge themselves actually made pans like this before the 1970s.

Some antique stores "know what they got" and ask solid money for a well kept pan, and rightfully so. For example, there's a booth at the Chicken Barn in Ellsworth with well maintained properly seasoned antique cast iron and they want $100+ for their pans, but any old pan can be re-seasoned as long as it's not warped or chipped to shit.

The service sucks at any of the Rooms restaurants because Harding Smith is a fucking asshole to his employees, and you shouldn't give them any business.

Honestly it's amazing they are still able to operate restaurants in Portland, they have achieved a reputation for being jerks so actual kitchen/FOH talent isn't going to work there.

Darn, they are usually my first call for lock shit, but never old cars.

You know, maybe the right way to approach this is from the automotive side - If it's an antique car, ask for a referral from someone that works on antique cars. Like try giving someone like New England Imports in Portland a call, they do all kinds of classic car work, I'll bet you they have a referral to a locksmith.

Also, remember for every nutbag with 30 LePage signs on his lawn, the other ~100 neighbors you have won't put up a Mills sign for fear of being targeted by the local psychopath with all the right wing shit.

I live on a road where our fuckface asshole neighbors fly confederate flags (from their dumpy single wides and rusty old pickups, lol, losers all of 'em I guess) you think we're putting a Mills sign up on our lawn? Hell no. I figure they're gonna try to kill us someday anyway, why accelerate the process?

They won't. People like that don't do what they're supposed to do in any way shape or form, which is why they have a dog that attacks other dogs running around at large to begin with.

Don't wait for them to do the right thing, make them do the right thing. Because they won't otherwise. Don't even give them the opportunity to disregard this.

Sound advice from law enforcement at least.

I have to carry a gun in my own yard too because of a neighbor's off-leash dangerous breed dogs that they refuse to control. I love dogs, hell, critters in general, but I'm not taking any chances with the lives of my loved ones. It bites, it dies.

If I were you, I would consult with a lawyer regarding a civil suit for damages such as emotional distress and loss of quiet enjoyment. Your security camera footage is very useful showing a dangerous dog on your property, which is emotionally distressing, causing anxiety, fear, and loss of enjoyment of your property, right?

Because take it from me, these people aren't going to control their dog, they aren't going to move, and they aren't going to put up a fence at their cost to contain their dangerous animal unless you make them.

You can always check a username, and if it's "word-word-number" and posts in /r/Conservative, you can safely ignore every thing they ever say or do, because it's just troll bullshit.

Besides, you can be assured the generated username is because they keep getting banned for hate speech. They aren't worth your time.

That generation voted to have low taxes for themselves, low wages for their employees, no new neighbors, and a 30-40 year vacation at the end of their life on taxpayer funds with heavily subsidized health care to boot. There's your fucking problem with America, right there.

That's just the thing too, particularly when you get outside of Portland.

The people that live here chose not to build a place where their children could grow up, have careers, own homes, and raise families.

And this is the end result.
