We did that night! I was a little awestruck being a cusp boomer who watched the whole moon landing thing. I was a bit more impressed than I thought I'd be.

There's a specimen my grandfather found our family has on loan there. It's a neat place. I went when the tourmaline jewelry was there, but it may be out touring

They brought them out on Halloween and set up a telescope to look at the moon. It was way cool.

I think you're reading into it. I used no qualifying words like just or only. It's my opinion based on what I see every day and what the coaches say. I think high school sports in small towns is going the way of the dinosaurs.

I work in a high school. It's the kids. They go out for a sport but have no interest in getting in shape to play it. They show up to practice when it's convenient. Their parents pull them out of school to do something else on a whim. They work or hang out instead. They are not competitive. They don't view sports the same way their grandparents did and most simply are not interested.

If you are going to use shortening, try equal parts fluff, xx sugar and shortening. Add vanilla. If you're going to a gathering, make your favorite chocolate cake and frost it with filling. Ta-da! Whoopie Pie cake.

A trip to Gettysburg is very sobering. We took the bus tour then drove back to the Maine monument. It's a good view of the battlefield and the details are well documented.

There used to be a sporting camp there. I worked there as a teen. Lived in "the chicken coop."One night we got hammered and walked down to Louise Dickerson Rich's camp where a coworker was spending the night. It was early May back when there was still snow around in May. We went skinny dipping in Rapid River and then into the hot tub. Holy coldness.
