Wow that’s great. Yes it is quite the impressive display and a lovely museum. The minerals are amazingly beautiful and it is so cool to see them in their raw state with the crystalline geometric forms. Must have been so exciting to find these pockets.

Baxter is cool and unique because of its natural beauty but most particularly because use is regulated and limited. I was hiking one of the trails several years ago and talked with someone from Pennsylvania who remarked on how beautiful and unique it was and how nice not to have crowds.

As a retired 43 year educator (politically and socially liberal) I must agree with the dismissal. Kids have their own “social world.” It should not interact with the “social world”of their teachers. Randomly coming across a staff members TikTok is one thing, but staff should not give it out and encourage kids to view it regardless of the content. On another note, I am still dumbfounded by reports of educators having “relationships “ with their students. These aren’t relationships. It’s abuse. (And it will always come out.). One would think that after the Mary Kay LeTourneau story people would have figured out the issue.

My grandson, 15, has two grandparents with PHDs, all other adults with Masters or more, everyone in some sort of educational or health care field, and he wants to be an electrician. He likes to hunt and fish and wants to be able to control his time and not incur tons of college debt. We are all for it.

I know. One time a few years ago the speaker of the Maine House called me and asked if I’d run for a state rep seat in my area. I’m nobody important although through work I knew a lot of people in the area. I told a friend in another state and they were like “wow!” I explained that I had never met the guy but I knew two people who knew him and one who had worked with him. Lol. But then again, after taking students to the State House for student activities over the years and observing state senators and reps informally, I realized the pickings are slim. Scary

Interesting article in the Press Herald this morning about the economy in that region and how it is attracting people from away. The region, not the economy. The organic farms and plans for a farm to table restaurant. Worth reading. It is a really beautiful part of Maine.

Wow. That is beautiful. Looks like a painting that could be in a museum. Love the fog of the morning these days.
