Reply to comment by porkchameleon in Philadelphia is now officially a ‘Certified Welcoming’ city. Here’s what it means for immigrant communities. by ColdJay64
It is supposed to make progressives feel good about themselves. I believe that is the intended purpose. Maybe launder some money to the 'Welcoming Center' non profit as well.
All par for the course stuff in this city

Its crazy youre being downvoted. What makes anyone think this city can manage funding organizations that have zero oversight and no metrics that can objectively be measured.
As you noted, this city can't even collect fucking garbage.

Oh so the company is supposed to regulate and enforce laws for itself. Got it. I am sure they are not overlooking giving the horses breaks in order to make more money

Survivorship bias. You got lucky you ddn't get robbed. I talked to an old head who lived in that area for awhile and he was saying temple kids have always been an easy lick for as long as he can remember. It seems to be happening more frequently and the crimes are more violent now but as far as off campus TU kids getting robbed...yea...thats been happening

TU is right on the BSL. You can find plenty of places in south philly that are comparable in price without having to duck gun shots or worry about your house gettingrobbed every spring/holiday break
scatterbrainedpast t1_iyfxf54 wrote
This is absolutely nuts. I seriously can't believe TU students still choose to live around campus. Not to be a dick but after everything that has happened in the last 1-2 years, you have to be pretty dumb to live off campus at Temple.
apparently the dude in the video jumped out of an empty boarded up house. These students are literally living right next door to a boarded up house. Give me a fucking break

UPenn students be like: Penn is a racist institution that needs to be gutted from the inside out.
The same exact Penn students: Attend upenn for $62,000 a year and deep down enjoy every aspect of it.
You can smell the virtue signaling a mile away
