I look them over and read the insert, maybe skim a few pages. I don't care if they're read or not, whoever starts the book can decide for themselves.

Try "The Civil War", a huge set of books put out by Time Life. Illustrations are awesome as well.

A lot of libraries have a kiosk t where you can put in keywords and it brings up book suggestions.

I'll always remember smacking my NES and blowing into the cartridge. The best of times.

Just do what you want to do! I did enjoy reading The Civil War, the big book with illustrations. Other than that, encyclopedias fascinated me. I've always thought that in non- fiction there is so much embellishment put there to make a boring story more interesting.

I don't really consider books to be too long. If I get bored, that's just a sign that I don't like the book. All or nothing for me!

Frost and Fire is one of Ray Bradbury's stories that I will never forget. His entire collection is fantastic but this one really grabbed me.

Try going back to the golden oldies like Tom Sawyer.

I had to force my way through Gardens of the Moon, but I'm so glad I did. Going back through Malazan the 2nd time was a delight, and the 3rd trip through made it all feel great, and complete. It might not be that way for the series you're reading, but you'll never find out unless you try 😉

Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn. One of many things they taught me was that people can be incredibly absurd.
