Reducing it to two lanes is a nightmare. The BQE and Belt Parkway both need more lanes not less. Less lanes is causing congestion that adds pollution and cost to the products we buy. I also agree that part of the solution is adding public transit so that less people need to drive. And add freight lines so commerce can be taken off the roads.

This city doesn't need a Ferris wheel, a water park would be awesome 👍 👍👍.

I think it's very newsworthy. Shows the blatant contradiction of politicians and those who support them.

Oh. So you are saying it's wrong but keep doing it? Because two wrongs make it right? Hmm. That can be some of these politicians slogan. Mistakes have been made in the past, elect me and I will make sure they continue into the future.

It's all a farce. They don't listen to the the committee education councils either. Ours has a no vote of confidence on the district Superintendent because he ignores and lies about basing decisions on community input. School district 15 principal is accusee of gross mismanagement and gets sent to the district office. Politics trump's what the community wants.

You tell me citation desperately needed and when provided indicate you already know about it because you already have an excuse as to why standards are being lowered. Basically circling back to my original claim on eliminating standards and accountability.

Eliminated screening for schools and recently only some districts brought them back. https://gothamist.com/news/complete-education-overhaul-nyc-plans-drop-middle-school-screens-geographic-district-priority-high-schools

It has gotten so bad that they don't want to call tests a test because that can be too stressful for some kids. So they call them learning opportunities.

NYC changed it so students were all opted out to take the standardized test and had to notify them if you want to take the test.

Actually not just the DOE you can add the education oversight at the State level also. Such as http://www.nysed.gov/news/2021/state-education-department-proposes-changes-teacher-certification-requirements-reduce

DOE is a joke. That is why they are eliminating standards, accountability and saying they are doing it in the name of equity. All to distract us from their incompetence.
