Next to Amazon fresh (or whatever will end up there) in Leominster. There are the Ulta “orange awnings” next door. I also want to say the mayor mentioned it on his Facebook page that an Ulta would be going in there too. I think that’s where pier 1 was back in the day.

A lot of companies grew exponentially during the pandemic because of nature of the services they offered (amazon, shopping/delivery services, peloton, etc.) and for whatever reason thought that growth would continue even when the world would eventually go back to normal. They made bad decisions to expand, invest, etc. and now they're paying the price. It sucks, but what they did was super short sighted. I am no expert, but this is definitely what it seems...

I think you're referring to the one I know about in central mass. My good friend is the store manager at TJMaxx across the parking lot and they don't know anything about it either. Looks like it's sitting dormant. I live a couple towns over and am in that area a lot for BJs and Market Basket (they're also opening an Ulta next door).

There's also the Amazon warehouse where the Greendale mall used to be. Our friend who is a Worcester fire fighter said that there's some electrical mess with electrical lines for the trains that go under the building (something to that effect) that is stopping them from being able to use the building. It could be a rumor but he said that there are no plans to use that building.

Plug for my town - Holden, Ma even though I am sure some people will shit on it. Our town touches Worcester, so you get somewhat rural living with city close by. High school is regional, but elementary and middle schools are in town. Without looking, I would say average home price here for a 3 bedroom 2000sq ft house is probably around $600K. If you go a little further out (more rural, but still close to Worcester) you get Rutland, Barre, Hubbardston, etc.. Housing is slightly cheaper there.

Politically, there are definitely right-wing people here (most of my immediate neighbors), but generally speaking, they're not assholes about it.

We've lived here for almost 7 years (was closer to Boston before that), and we really love it. The schools are great, and you can get anywhere relatively quickly. Holden main street traffic sucks because it's essentially the only route to get to the more rural towns if you're coming from the east. I've gotten used to it though and try to avoid it at peak times.

ETA: for reference, Rutland is the geographical center of the state, which is 1 town over from Holden.

Thanks. This is helpful. Excluding bathrooms, we have 8 rooms, 4 of which are bedrooms. Our septic definitely covers 4 bedrooms, but may possibly be big enough for 5. I need to call our septic company and find out. In the end, it doesn't really matter because this extra room we're putting in in the basement doesn't necessarily have to be a bedroom, but for resale, if our septic covers 5 bedrooms, and bedrooms don't necessarily have to have a closet, we'll probably call it a bedroom.

The 4th bedroom we do "officially" have is small as hell. It meets all the requirements to be considered a bedroom, but unless you're only putting a twin bed in there and a super small dresser, it doesn't really work.

I just had this for the first time last week. I ordered a large half pepperoni for our family of 5. Usually we end up getting 2 larges from other places and have a few pieces left over. We had about 30% of the large left over which feels about right in terms of comparing it to 2 larges from other places. I think it was $28 - which is also somewhat comparable in price to what we would pay for 2 larges other places.

Rating: 5/10. Totally edible and not "bad" per se. We live in Holden and I drove through to pick it up on the way home from work. I got it right as it came out of the oven and it took around 25 minutes to get it home. I am willing to try it 1 more time to make sure it wasn't very average due to travel time. There are so many very average pizza places around Worcester that are still better than this place.

I've only been to the Oxford one a few times to get a few things (not a full shopping) and it didn't bother me.

I go to the Leominster one at the mall and it's nuts always. I try to go around 6:45am to get in and get out. That's the only time it's not busy.

I recently went to the one in Littleton and the store layout is the reverse from what I am used to and it was so unbelievably terrible.

I got so excited the other day thinking it was open. I was at Trader Joes in Shrewsbury and typed in "market basket" to see where the closest one was to me. The Shrewsbury one popped up, but going back to google there were pictures posted 3ish weeks ago of all the fixturing in, but nothing stocked yet. I am glad I came across this thread because I was wondering as well.

I live in Holden (but on the Princeton side) and go to the Leominster Market Basket weekly. There are a handful of products that I love from Traer Joes, but I only make it there once a month or so. I am so glad I will be able to hit up TJ and MB in the same town soon!

Man, I haven't thought about Simjang in a while. They were incredible. RIP. :(

It's not amazing, but the most acceptable Nashville hot that I've found in Worcester is at Bay State Brewing.

Also Mama Roux makes an awesome hot chicken sandwich. I've only ever had it when they were parked out behind Dive Bar. Where are they parked now?

I did my driver's test in 1999, and am originally from one of the lovely towns in central Mass that has both an RMV and is conveniently located right on rt. 2. I most definitely had to go on the highway for my driver's test. Not all my peers did, but I did. Definitely depended on the officer you got back then. (do they still have state troopers sit in the passenger seat or is it someone from the RMV?)

Kloter Farms is legit. They usually have a good sale in the fall. We ordered last September/October and had delivery last November. They did a great job with ground preparation. Our driveway is a driveway from hell and they were not even fazed by it.
