Drove by it on my way home tonight. At first I saw the channel 12 truck and cameras posted at the corner of the park, and thought something must have happened to Oak Bake Shop (which is freaking amazing BTW.) Then when I pulled up to the stop and saw the cowards in their face masks, I knew what was up.

EDIT: Good to see the crowd was on the right side of things. Still, if you need to wear a face mask, my comment stands.

I lived in the same Boston neighborhood as the first Bintimani. Then saw they moved to a different neighborhood with a more diverse population, which made sense. Then Boston prices skyrocketed and they, like we, decide to pack up and move to Providence.

Since then, I can’t believe they haven’t had a single chance to open a physical location. I can’t see how, if it’s a grift, it’s working, but man I can’t see them opening anything ever.

We live in a three family that was gut remodeled before we moved in back in 2019, so it has decent insulation. Plus the upstairs and downstairs neighbors sharing what physics insists they must. And my wife loves to cook, so the stove or oven is running at least a few minutes every day, and that releases ambient heat.

The Shop on Wickenden is nice, but small. Seven Stars Bakery has a few locations in Providence, and all have some space to work.

You can’t cut your own, but Mike’s Tree Farm on Pippin Orchard Rd in Cranston’s prices haven’t changed: ($70 for a 7’, $80 for 8’, etc.)

I rent on the East Side after living in Boston for 15 years. Both neighbors above and below me are on multiyear fellowships at local hospitals. It’s city living, for sure, but there are tons of young families around. There’s a tot lot on Morris that seems pretty perfect for the wee ones.
