Reply to eli5 how does light get reflected?does it get reflected in all directions or in the direction where it came?and does light gets weaker everytime it gets reflected i mean does the reflection gets weaker even time it also reflects? by Substantial-Drop-726
There's two types of reflections, specular and diffuse. Specular is shiny/glossy objects, the light gets reflected out at the same angle it hit the object like \/. Diffuse (matte) the light gets reflected in all directions. In either case a bit of light is absorbed into the material.
If you've ever seen one of those 'infinity mirrors', it eventually stops when the light is totally absorbed by the glass and mirror.

if you blow across the top of a straw dipped in water, it creates low pressure in the top part of the straw, which draws up the liquid from below.

A fish might eat another fish, then get caught by a fishing boat. But negligible. More nutrients are constantly being created at the surface (eg plankton) than any number of whalefalls.

A lot of country names is just a variation of 'Our Land/The Land'. So what do you call another place when that's what you call yours? You have to use a different name than what they call themselves.
Sometimes it's when people came and asked 'what is this place?' and the people there said 'I don't understand'. So now that's the name of the place (Yucatan).

Because the ones that got knocked down and replaced aren't there anymore to wonder about. Survivorship bias. Likewise, the ones that got buried survived, the ones that weren't buried, people carted off parts of them to use to build other things.
