This isn't just about copyrights, but about whether its plagiarism to use ChatGPT written work.

Its useful for putting your plan on paper in a nice, clean format that other people can read.
> I think they should consider another occupation.
We already have a massive teacher shortage. Last thing we need is to push more to leave.

Those are problems if you just throw a prompt in and copy/paste the answer.
As a tool to speed up and revise your writing, ChatGPT is very effective.

Classes will just do more in class grading, either with locked down PCs or handwritten assignments.

The reason is to avoid dumb lawsuits like this.

Because the "shortage" is entirely down to agriculture and it is not cost competitive to grow crops at these prices. Its fairly easy to meet residential water demand.

I really doubt that. That is a giant structure, which will create a ton of engineering challenges(many that won't be foreseen).
We are talking about something approaching skyscraper height, with over double the width of a football field, and this structure is supposed to be sitting over ocean water.

As an engineer, the project sounds insane. That is a massive structure to stick over of the ocean, and ocean water is highly corrosive so its going to take a ton of maintenance.

Actually, Google Docs already does what he described. It records every keystroke as you enter the data and you can go back and look at the changes.
Also, nobody types out a complete essay in one go. You will have to put more effort into it than that. Still doable though.

You can't just spit in a prompt and get a high quality essay out(yet).
What you should do is use it as a tool. Provide it with decent inputs, do some editing and squeeze in sources on the back end. It will turn a 3 hour writing project into a 30 minute one.

Google Docs already tracks your writing process. They will just check to make sure it looks human.

That is only one part of school. A big part of school is screening out candidates for future employers.
Students who write decent essays show they have a baseline level of intelligence, work ethic and ability to conform.

That is basically the plan.
Google docs tracks your writing. Teachers are using that to check if the kids are actually writing papers or just copy/pasting in an AI one.

You just need to change the prompt a bit.
Also, the tech will improve. Yeah, you might beat today's chatgtp, but its improving fast.

This isn't about rights though. Its about whether ChatGPT can be credited as an author. If it can't be credited, then you can't plagiarize it.
