Reply to 25 year old Vasque Sundowners, bought new at REI in Albuquerque circa '97, hiking two days ago in Maui highlands by mangoes_n_rainbows
Vasque quality went downhill in my experience, the glue they used on the model I bought was worthless.
Asolo are my go-to hiking boots. I'm a field geologist, so I do a lot of hiking. Most geos are harder on their boots than me, my last Asolos lasted 10 years and I still use them for yard work, just got a new pair for work/leisure hiking.

Reply to comment by Professional-Menu835 in My first potato peeler (Sparschäler) I got this Sparschäler 10 years ago already used by my grand mother. It is still a mass product and you can buy it for round about 5 USD. But this one is made in West Germany so at least 33 years old and almost daily in use. by Secundus_Scipio

Reply to I know it's a dumb ABC watch but it might be one of the most beloved along with some beloved Casio ABC watches. I've had this forever. It's got an amazing NATO-style band. by chrisabraham
Suunto is just a great finnish brand. I have one of their sighting compasses and only had it for 3 years but can tell it’ll last for life.

Good boots are hard to beat in my work. I’m assuming you use mink oil to keep the leather conditioned.

Reply to I bought this Wahl Hair Cutting Kit 15 years ago in 2008 for $20 or so. Works like new and never done me wrong. It must've saved me hundreds, especially working overtime during the pandemic. by Mad_Juju
These things are great. The ones I use have been truckin since 2010, but their dog shears wear out from heavier use (expected). Replaced our dog clippers 3x in the same time span. Saved thousands at this point, $20+ a pop for my hair, $100+ for dogs (2x), plus I started cutting our toddler’s hair earlier this year.

I always have one in my car and work truck. Idk how hard they are to find now, but there was a period around 2019/20 when they were impossible to find or no one wanted to part ways with one.

Reply to Zojirushi rice cooker. Cooking rice to perfection 15 years and counting. by Spudcommando
Yup we had one when I was a kid, it never broke or quit, I think we just gave it away when moving. After going through 2 cheaper rice cookers as an adult, we finally bought a Zojirushi about 3 years ago and I love it.
