With the engineered, you can build much taller wooden buildings. Which, in turn, captures more carbon and means that wood is used instead of cement

Reply to comment by -Nordico- in TIL tomb raiding is a big problem in China that looters sometimes find historically significant sites first. For instance the tomb of the famed 3 Kingdoms-era general, Cao Cao, was discovered in 2008 after police inspected the stolen goods of a bunch of robbers, who then led them to an unknown tomb. by Khysamgathys

Gotta disagree on recipes; I find plenty of good recipes on line including some sites that I now trust significantly.
But often the best thing to do is look up 3 recipes for the same dish, see what they have in common, what is different, and choose what you want to do with that info, based on the flavors you like.

It's like the apocryphal quote about Nixon by Pauline Kael (which she didn't actually say): “I can’t believe Nixon won. I don’t know anyone who voted for him." Kael was a New York film critic, so the joke here is that in the urban intelligentsia, she and her friends were not Nixon fans. But of course, that circle in New York City does not represent a giant country like the US, nor would upper class liberals in Tehran represent a country that was primarily peasant farmers and villagers, who were conservative and religious.
A plurality of the people did support Kohmeini, although they didn't necessarily know what he would implement. Some of the first things they did when coming to power was crack down on those who would oppose them (a good revolutionary always consolidates the revolution...), which ended up being a lot of people involved in getting rid of the Shah. Revolutions tend to devour their children...
The actual quote was " ‘I live in a rather special world. I only know one person who voted for Nixon. Where they are I don’t know. They’re outside my ken. But sometimes when I’m in a theater I can feel them.” Which certainly shows a self-awareness about her circle.

Caesar was very clear about this in his own writing on the Gallic War - a great "first person" source answer to your question. In his 10 years, he sometimes fought tribes three or four times. He always talked about mercy first, then being tougher, and then being real tough. Tribes who rebelled too many times often ended with executions and mass sales into slavery.
The Averni tribe actually did receive mercy, because they mostly tried to work with Caesar; Vercingetorix went against the cautious nobles in the tribe (who expelled him) and then raised his own army and went back and conquered. So he was a personal threat to the potential internal Gallic allies of Rome.

I'd agree; the issue is that a lot of big "spectacle" movies actually have cheap and rushed CGI that's not really that good.

Stalin himself was constantly asking for that front to be opened. It's silly to say it wasn't significant.
The Russians also didn't beat Napoleon alone; to go on the offensive against Napoleon it took a giant confederation that fought at Leipzig

Japan was very interested in a peace deal - even Tojo, once he became PM - but with a whole lot of conditions that involved Japan keeping a lot of China.
Meanwhile, Japan also was preparing for conflict with the US in case a deal couldn't be worked out and had set an internal 'final diplomacy date.' The US saw the preparations for conflict and it led to a loss of trust in the process, and it also assumed it had more time to work something out.
There were a number of miscommunications and missed opportunities for a deal in 1941.

He was honest with you and you hadn't previously discussed it. You get through this by having a non-judgmental discussion with him about you wanting a heads up before any strip clubs are involved. And also that you had really wanted to celebrate with just the two of you.
You are right - if you are super pissed, mostly keep it to yourself. Not because it is his birthday, but because he isn't a mind reader, and he kept his location tracking on and told you instantly via text.

You were lite on the details, so either this was a one off when you were separated (by boot) and she was 18, and since then you two have built a life together. Or she's cheated a lot.
If it is the first one, take some time. Keep staying at your friend's for a bit. You need to process. And figure out if this is a "ok, she was young and foolish but it has been 10 uears and she's a different person now" or is this "I will never be able to move past this"
Keep the idea of forgiveness as an option.
You can also try a reconciliation and if it doesn't work, still get a divorce
