I think there is. Ive heard that if sanding/salting budget is not used up during the season, it shows that it was "over-budgeted" and the amount will be lowered for the next winter season.

By the sword? Damn MA, I thought we were more civilised. But it tracks that we're pretty tiny but have like the longest motto 🤣 If MA was a person, he'd be a short king with BDE. Fkn love it!

Not really all the rare. Negative temps are pretty normal where I grew up in the Berkshires. Maybe not normal this year, but I remember negative temps in the winters of my childhood.

My dad recently unearthed his copy of The Point. I had never heard of Harry Nilsson before- you better believe my dad fkn jumped at the chance to introduce me to his stuff. So we spent some time listening to the album with Dad reminiscing about his teen years :)
I told my mom we had listened to The Point and her response was "Harry Nilsson... that weirdo." Lol

He talked about faking his death a lot. In the book his friend wrote, he even had a plan. Some think he is still alive.

Well it looked like it was snowing pretry damn hard in Holyoke but it barely stuck around. Theres a light coating of frosty snow on my driveway and sidewalk but a few hours of sunshine will eat it right up.

I cannot speak for anyone else in Holyoke, but my neighborhood feels safe. Its absolutely not perfect, this Paper City. There absolutely is crime, people have been killed, but Id say the average person wouldn't have any problems. Most of the folks I know in Holyoke chose to move here, chose to buy properties here, chose to invest time and money into this community. And we throw the best goddamn St. Patrick's Day party. ☘️

Oh wow awesome! Windsor is really a lovely town and there is a small, but thriving community of friends and neighbors. There are frequently walking groups, potlucks, clothing swaps and library and church events, plus there's a bunch of committees like the Historical society (they take care of the wonderful museum right in the center of town) and the monthly town newsletter. There are 2 stores in town , the original General Store at the top of the mountain (with a gorgeous view of the valley) and down the road is the gas/diesel station Friendly Fred's.There's also a town park with a baseball diamond, public-use pavilion and a BRAND NEW PLAYGROUND! During the summer, they have family movie nights up there.
But its certainly not an EASY place to live. Winters can be cold and long, as the town is on a mountain. I've literally seen the entire town of Windsor encased in ice and snow and then driven a few miles down the mountain into neighboring Dalton, only to see melted puddles and hints of green grass. But if you are a snow enthusiast, you will be in luck as Windsor has some of the best snowmobiling and x-country skiing in the state! Plus loads of trails and fields to muck about in. Windsor Jambs and the state park are favorites places of mine to explore and pretend Im a wood elf haha.
I could go on and on about my lovely little hometown, but to be honest its making me quite emotional and I have chores to get done. but i will leave you with this incredible video that was made a few years ago.
