It has been a whirlwind lately. I left my job of almost 3 years last Monday, went to NY to see family, now I’m home until my wife and I go to New Zealand next week. When I get back I start my new job. This is the first time in my adult life I’ve transitioned to another job in my field and mot been desperately trying to do so.

Nothing really, I’m alright with what I have.

Making the long drive home from NY today. I am so not used to the cold up here anymore. Can’t wait to be back in Richmond where I can feel warm again.

Getting some stuff done before I go up to see my family in NY. The’ve got the extra time, so it seems reasonable to spend a few days up there.

Should be a busy, interesting day. I’ve got a fairly important call this morning, and this afternoon the electrician is coming to move an outlet in advance of some closet renovations and wardrobe construction on Wednesday. Lots of stuff happening!

Yeah, this year my partner and I just said “Let’s not do Christmas.” So we’re going on vacation over the holidays instead. It’ll be nice to just mail off some presents and not worry about anything else.

Quite honestly, I don’t like the holidays that much. I know I should, but it’s a time of year that brings up unpleasant memories for me. That said, my neighbors are taking about wanting to do a tuk-tuk tacky light tour this year. Maybe that’ll be fun.

Low key day at the MIL’s place. Watched some stuff on Brit Box, napped, now we’re watching Wednesday on Netflix. That show is surprisingly more entertaining than I thought it would be.

I’ve got a half day at work, then I’ve got to run some errands before we drive to my MIL’ s house tonight.
