I lived in Philly for a few years and loved it. The sub is really odd place, it's one of the few places where the sub just doesn't match the actual area....

Yes, a lot of people over on the sub are upset over one thing or another, but it's really not as bad as they make it out to be. If you're really that scared about moving to Philly, might I highly recommend visiting for a weekend or week.

There's plenty of places where it's recommended to avoid, but there's also really nice areas. IMO, even in the more rough areas, as long as you aren't like an asshole to everyone, you should be fine.

Oh, yeah... I was going to mention that. But the more recent stories, like the New Mexican candidate who was just arrested for hiring a hitman to shoot democrats in New Mexico.

But you know... "Both sides"...

Give me a break. Fucking Republicans... How can you tolerate your own hypocrisy?! Seriously.

You realize you might detach, but those politics and things are still going to affect your life, right?

You are aware this is akin to burying your head in the sand because you don't like the labels?

If that's what you want... Then that's fine, but it's also a really bad thing to just allow people to passively choose laws for you. It's how we got Roe v Wade over turned... And now citizens don't have the right to their own body anymore.

Which one? You mean the one who hired hitmen to shoot democratic government officials?

Or the ones that held the House hostage for over 14 votes until they succumbed to blackmail/backroom bullshit?

You're going to have to be a bit more specific.

I wasn't even thinking about the legal part of suing them.

I'm more talking about when parents push back against the school for trying to teach something only for it to go against this new ruling....

FYI, there's now no longer science in bucks county schools because Republicans see that as LGBTQ agenda. Can't teach history because it's political. Can't teach math because it's part of the Jewish agenda. Can't let kids play because that turns them trans or gay.

I think Republicans really just want Amish schools. And to make the kids work the fields.

I can't imagine why people continue to lean more left... With this kind of censorship going on.

they are very much wrong, I was told the same thing but Careerlink offices are to help "get you ready" for interviews or help with your resume. They have no link to unemployment offices and have no ability to help there.

A lot of the reps will say to go there because they are either uninformed or straight up lying to you.

If you ever get that advice again, ask what they are able to do that the unemployment rep you're speaking to can't do... they'll be at a loss for words.
