Reply to Maine Maple Failure. by JqD2_
Grandfather started doing this as a hobby to give as gifts. He only got 5 gallons this year after refining it but he thinks that with more taps he will do closer to 15 next year. I honestly don't know how much of the stuff people consume but he should have enough to supply family i hope.

I would avoid doing it in town but if you are in the woods somewhere it's doubtful anyone is going to give you shit.

My grandfather used to trap them when i was a kid. The fur only sells for about $2 at auction now because of Russian fur farming.

Lincoln has lots of old people and i'm sure had to put restrictions to insure there is even enough capacity to house all residents that might need it.

I don't understand why more road work isn't just done at night. I think most of the workers would actually prefer 8:00 pm to 5:00 am shifts after factoring in not spending their summers baking on pavement. In the winter it would be cold but unlike summer you can just wear more layers.

I would say would confidence that most Mainers don't go to massachusetts to get married. The vast majority of people outside of Portland end up with someone that went to their high school, just like most of rural america.
