I live in a state where it’s fully legal (WA) & my former doctor prescribed me specific strains of cannabis when I was having liver issues. It helped my liver heal itself, too. So at least in states where it’s legal, doctors use it as just one more thing they can use to help patients.

I have chronic pain due to systemic lupus & rheumatoid arthritis. Opiates make me severely nauseous so I used tons of NSAIDs which slowly ate away at my stomach lining. So then I was just in pain all the time.

When I moved to WA state where cannabis is legal, I finally got to experience a life without constant pain. Pain management with CBD, CBG, & THC has been positively life changing for me. From migraines to joint pain to even kidney stones, I can now live life without being in constant, horrible pain & it is genuinely so freeing.

Yes, ultimately it is a dealbreaker because there will come a time when they will want to explore & the other person won’t. One good way to discover this is to ask a potential partner what they hope their life will be like in 5 years. It’s the same with libido- ultimately the relationship won’t last without someone becoming resentful of the other partner that they feel is limiting them

I’m very sorry you know people who were negatively affected. I have narcolepsy with cataplexy as well as cPTSD. The SNRI I take daily manages my cataplexy so I don’t drop things or fall down. It also helps with the crippling depression from multiple traumas. I have tried everything from St. Johns Wort to light therapy. None of it worked. Therapy helps but therapy alone was nowhere near as effective as it plus the SNRI.

You’re welcome to refuse whatever medication you want for yourself but the fact is that everyone is different. Some of us do need medication & are much worse off without it.

Truly, I wish AI could take over my career field entirely. My career is in online community management, specifically for gaming. I cannot in good conscience recommend this field to anyone anymore due to the overwhelming negativity & mental health destruction. Online content moderation is incredibly emotionally & mentally taxing as well as potentially traumatizing. Community managers burn out at alarming rates because of it. Sadly, AI is nowhere near ready but this is truly a profession that should be taken over by AI.

Minecraft - This game changed my life considerably for the better. I have my wonderful partner because of it as we met while both working at Mojang Studios. Microsoft Solitaire is a close second, again because working on the game changed my life for the better.

Washington state has been Democrat for years &:

  • Has no income tax

  • Has median gas prices & lots of charging stations for electric cars

  • Is working on the homeless problem & has less than other states

  • Has some of the best public schools in the US & ranks highly in education (red states have the worst)

  • Low crime

  • No tax on groceries (& lower food prices with higher quality food)

  • Lowest prices for electricity in the entire US with most of it coming from green energy sources

  • Has lots of civil services, including extensive help for people with disabilities

  • Great roads

  • Excellent, state-of-the-art libraries

  • Clean air

  • Clean lakes, rivers, & streams (you can actually swim in them without getting poisoned!)

  • Freedom for people with uteruses to get proper medical care

  • Beautiful parks, well-kept campgrounds, & natural spaces

  • Breathtaking scenery

  • Sustainable forestry

  • Leaders who actually are from this state & care about it because their families are also here

  • Plenty of trails & walkable areas as well as lots of support for hiking, fishing, camping, & hunting

  • Legal cannabis (medical & recreational)

  • Major corporations who contribute to the area

  • Lots of jobs in all sorts of industries

  • Strong LBGTQIA+ community with equal rights enshrined in state law & gender-affirming care

  • Delicious restaurants & all manner of shopping

  • Strong gaming community & lots of local game stores with over 200 video game studios in the Seattle/Bellevue/Redmond area alone, including the home offices of Bungie, Xbox, ArenaNet, Valve, Nintendo of America, etc.

  • Lots of craft breweries, coffee culture, & vinoculture

  • Excellent music & the birthplace of grunge & alternative rock

  • Professional sports teams including MLB, NHL, NFL, & soccer

  • Lots of awesome museums, including MoPOP (Museum of Pop Culture)

  • ALL THE APPLES!

  • Excellent hospitals that are leaders in the medical industry

  • True freedom of religion. The state is not “claimed” for any one religion & there are places of worship for people of all faiths. People who identify as atheist/agnostic don’t have to worry about one religion taking over the legislature & being forced on them.

  • Free birth control for WA residents

You clearly have never lived in WA or probably have never even been here. I came from awful red states in the Southern US. I watched with sadness as Tennessee got run into the ground by horrible Republican leadership. Washington state is amazing as are most of the people here.
