What got me most about that was it was so good but it also felt like it’s natural conclusion was just 1 or 2 seasons away anyway, they literally robbed us of a proper ending

That’s how I always remember it too, as one of the last blockbusters before GCI, every shot being filmed with grey and blue filters, etc.
It’s like we rewatched Band of Brothers over the Christmas period and I immediately noticed how they could portray night and capture all the essence of it being night whilst I could still see all the actors and set, but most shows and movies made in the last decade show darkness by being so dark and underexposed you can’t see anything on the screen at all u less you whack up the brightness and barricade the windows

Exactly, and I think that’s why it got banned.
Tbh I don’t really care either way about this. Over handed censorship is a bad thing, trying to piss people off is a bad thing… they cancel each other out on the give -a-shit-meter for me.

At least this one didn’t require a particularly sick train of thought to come up with I guess? We invented cart wheels, people got run over by them and their bones broke, then when we wanted to torture someone we were like ‘hey remember when Timmy got run over by that cart? That fucking hurt… grab a wheel!’
But yeah, from a modern lens it’s quite hard to really envisage just how horrific we were to each other in the past

Well they have the problem that Antwerp is Europe’s second busiest container port, so whether or not Belgium legalise it, it wouldn’t have much impact on the amount of illegal imports coming through their ports they’d have to deal with unless a lot of other countries did too.

It’s still a fair old chunk of change, and doesn’t have a cool story attached to it. It’s worth a lot more than the gold it’s made of, but there’s also a lot of 600 year old things in the UK.
Special but not so special basically.

Not really that bad. It’s sort of a naughty exec crime. We have to have laws against it because otherwise people would be being swindled left right and centre, but yeah, it happens all the time sadly, it’s only usually the non powerful fish that get caught

They usually cite ‘western Europe’ but yeah, I’d believe it’s that bad. 3 times as many women are killed per capita from domestic violence than the UK average, and domestic abuse crimes make up more than 18% of all crime total, and it’s increasing year on year.
