Hence the question mark. I'm honestly not sure what OP is asking for, nor am I sure they're sure. The best open world maps work so well because they're hand-crafted. Having a big, randomly generated open world just probably wouldn't be nearly as engaging or cohesive.

Each sequel improved on the predecessor (though the "actual" 2 aka Lost World's wasn't that big a step)

"Updates" implies minor changes like QoL tweaks and bug fixes. A little more substantial than patches.
Whole new game modes and characters and storylines are DLC.
