I don’t see a pool or a state of the art fitness center and a private dog park listed. I’m gonna need those added before I sign this lease

The price of everything has gone up since the pandemic. Not just housing. My last 4 rentals in the last 6 years were all within the range you specify, including the house I currently live in. If you don’t expect a new construction with a ton of amenities, you can find it.

The city needs to give developers an incentive to build there. Nobody is going to spend millions on a development that won’t turn a profit for the next 30 years.

Do you know 1000 young people, period? I know plenty of couples and a few individuals (all mid 20s- early 30s) who could afford that rent.
The people that can afford it will, and they will leave the lower priced options available for others who can’t.

Thanks for actually being rational and making sense. I see too many arguments made that housing should be affordable when it’s being built in high-demand areas of the city. If these developers were required to rent out units for $500 a month, they would simply not build it.

The PPD even lets that one fat cop ride around passyunk all day on a Segway. And I would assume it was paid for by the department since it’s got PPD badges and shit on it. Real Paul Blart type shit right there.

Technically it’s all Kensington. The church by girard and Columbia is named “First Presbyterian Church in Kensington”

lol you’re right. The catholic school I went to as a kid got rid of their last priest because he was particularly fond of the young boys in the parish.
People who defend the church just because they are a part of it or know someone who is a part of it are 100% of the problem. It’s always “that type of stuff doesn’t happen here” but usually the truth is just being hidden or ignored.
Hands down, if you defend people or organizations that fuck children you are a piece of shit.

I didn’t say make the lanes wider at any point. You can’t put a barricade in the middle of Kelly drive without making the whole thing wider.

Okay hear me out here.
I think the best idea for Kelly drive is to make it slightly wider (meaning the bike trail would need to be slightly smaller in some areas) and add barriers in the center, between each direction of travel. It makes it safer because you avoid oncoming crashes, and there’s also natural bottlenecks at the rock tunnel and the corner near the stands that could only fit one lane, so speed limits would need to be reduced. You only give half of the people the opportunity to drive onto the grass now without doing extra u turns, and you make the openings that would allow those uturns entrances to parking lots anyway.
On the weekends, they can close the side of the road that comes into the city, and it will offset the width reduction of the current path by allowing runners and bikers to use the street while being protected by a barricade. Added bonus of even lower speeds on the weekend because you only have two lanes now.

Not just for emergencies, all of the teams drive their boat trailers up and a bunch of the families drive up and unload their tents and shit in the early mornings. Maybe not every time but I’ve at least seen it happening while riding on the path in the early mornings.

I would guess that they’ll never install a permanent barrier here because, once the regatta is in town driving on the grass is 100% okay

I think he’ll be good. He got the knife from the attacker, stabbed him in the neck and back, then the attacker got up and tried to ride off on dudes bike. Dude pushed him off the bike and that was the end. If he had stabbed him again when he tried to ride away, he might be in trouble, but I think that last bit will save him legally.

Has gentrification caused the price of groceries and all other products to go up as well? Housing has been hit much harder, but It’s just inflation.
