Even worse, I was just reading (I think on Hackaday) that at least some DJI drones transmit both its location and the controller's location coordinates unencrypted.
The thing is, you take that into consideration and there's ways you can mitigate the risk in that. Also, how quickly can the Russian figure that signal out, convert the drone coordinates into whatever they use, and pass that to a gun or missle battalion fire direction center? As well as how quickly that FDC can get that to a gun/missle section that can engage that coordinates? I'm sure the Ukrainians can say, with fair accuracy by now.

Clearly you've never been to Ft Bliss. Why would anyone "lie" about where an Army fort is located in /r/army?

I had to drive past the World's Largest M80 firecracker every day. In New Mexico (fireworks are banned in El Paso county). Turned right at the Otero county, NM jail. Volunteered at the Chaparral Middle School. McGregor is in New Mexico. Doña Ana is in New Mexico, Oro Grande, New Mexico. Yeah, it borders White Sands Missile Range, which is miles from Texas. Something like 80 percent of Bliss is in New Mexico.
I dunno why that guy would say I'm lying. When he clearly has never been there.

Probably a better name than the generic Hot Springs name.

Infrastructure maintenance costs a lot, likely to close streets for weeks to months, look ugly while being done, and may not get finished before they leave office. The niceties probably go up quickly, and are there for reelection time.

I guess people boat in it? When I was at Ft Bliss (El Paso, TX, though most of the land of the fort is in New Mexico, for those that don't know), I remember hearing about a number of drownings there, probably alcohol related.

CB will go further than FRS or GMRS radios mostly because it uses AM instead of FM encoding, and use of lower frequencies. But it will be slightly more fuzzy and more prone to interference than FRS/GMRS.

That makes sense, with the police in the article stating that they don't have the authority to ban anyone from the event. They could definitely say that the existing security isn't enough if certain people were attending though.

Yeah, I love Austria, but not where I would go to avoid Russian assassins.

Someone wrote about an atomic bomb before there was one. He got a visit from the FBI during WWII. I want to say it was Issac Asimov, but I'm probably wrong.

I'm sure it's fine in the US. Generally knowledge is fine, it's when you make things like this that it becomes a problem. There are exceptions.

I know when I went to military language school in my late 20s, the cadre said I might be too old. A few older people just breezed through, barely studying. I flunked out. I think it was more of a memorization issue, I got the grammar adequately, just couldn't remember enough words fast enough.
