Think there is a spot in Wilton. Never been but throwing it out there if it’s a convenient location to look into

Nobody wants to live in an Airbnb town either so that’s one thing. Secondly, yes it is supply and demand. 2021 and 2022 saw a massive multi year pull forward in demand while supply remained fix as it takes time to build supply. 2023 and 2024 will see a bullwhip effect of that which will be characterized by lower than average demand and finally the new supply coming to market.

I really can’t wrap my head around it. What has happened to housing in the area is mind boggling since 2019. I think it’s a bubble that is about to burst but to be fair a ton of people have moved to Portsmouth and surrounding areas and it’s just not that big of a city so there are land constraints.

Hang in there! Babies are hard but it does get easier I promise! In the mean time try to have the nice little moments with your partner as much as possible. The wonderful thing about leaving the city is the sense of serenity when you move to a place like NH (or in my case CT) and don’t forget you are very close to Portsmouth and lots of entertainment if you have an itch you need to scratch.

I lived in West Village for a number of years. Obviously there are tons of things to do there but I never really met people once I was like 30 and in a serious relationship. Maybe your experience was different but I always found I did things that were enjoyable but was still “alone” surrounded by 10 million people. I now live in CT and find I mean extremely heavily on my partner to spend time with and have met almost nobody. We have 2 kids though and the thought of going out to socialize with people is exhausting after a day of work and kids.

I live in CT and have been researching move for a while. If you are looking for a smaller house in the 1500-2000 sq ft range I think you should be able to find something in Hollis / Windham but just have to patiently wait for something of that size to hit market and schools are pretty good. Amherst is less convenient but we thought it was beautiful and more affordable and schools also seem pretty good. May be worth looking at areas that share good school districts but are less convenient/more rural too like Brookline/Mt Vernon etc

Grew up in SE Florida and while some people are nice I always found it to be a pretty sleazy place and far prefer the highly educated and wholesome culture of the northeast (maybe with the exception of the bubble some people live in). Also, most people seem to complain about the cold but I don’t think any of them have ever been in 100 degree weather for like 6 months in a row. Far prefer four seasons to 1. I’m happy you like NH looking forward to follow in your footsteps soon!
