If you search "released on recognizance" and set the criteria to [within last month] you will get hits - to be clear this is not cherry picking this is a normal part of the weekly NYS courts blotter.

I'm not familiar with the case mentioned above. Here's a near-confirmed child molestor/rapist:

>In count one, Clark allegedly engaged in two or more acts of sexual conduct with a child less than eleven years old on or about and after Labor Day 2014 to mid-June, 2015 in the City of Batavia over a period of time less than three months in duration. In count two, Clark allegedly engaged in two or more acts of sexual conduct with a child less than eleven years old on or about and after Labor Day 2015 to mid-June, 2016 in the City of Batavia. Clark was released on recognizance.

“While Uber has seen tremendous growth over the past decade, the company has yet to make a profit.”

“Throughout its history, on an annual basis, Uber has never made a profit.” As of 2023

One wonders why they continue to struggle to make a profit, despite their operational costs being close to nothing, relative to their drivers, who face ongoing vehicle maintenance and rising fuel costs. Could it be, possibly, that their business model relies on exploitation, monopolization, and manipulation?

A transgender Rikers inmate raped a female prisoner while in the women’s section of the jail and has been sentenced to seven years, officials said Monday.

Ramel Blount, 33, who goes by Diamond Blount, pleaded guilty to attempted rape April 7 in an apparent plea deal.

Blount held the victim down by the back of her neck and raped her, investigators said.

NY offers these newcomers a new chance at life, though? They are coming from very poor and hopeless situations. Don't they deserve to be able to come here, just like the migrants that were sent here by bus?

Isn't it a good thing that migrants can escape their countries in very large numbers and come to New York for a better quality of life? I thought that was the whole idea around why immigration is important.
