Ok Bro, time to be the most downvoted guy in the history of Reddit.

First Congratulations but now comes the fun part. Make sure it's yours. Your saying she's 35 and to me that means her bio clock alarm went off and she wanted a baby NOW! I've read way too many stories about guys thinking that it's theirs when it's not. There are NON-Invasive tests to show paternity.

Prenatal DNA testing makes it possible to confirm paternity as early as 7 weeks into the pregnancy, using a non-invasive method to provide highly accurate results. At no risk to your health or the health of your unborn child, this lab test can establish a DNA link to the child's biological father.

I know your scared and exited about being a Dad but before she pops the kid out and it comes out looking like a different race or showing 0 of your traits get a test to avoid the baby trap. Too many women these days want to screw around and have a nice guy chump pay for their baby knowing full well that the child isn't theirs. Hell look at some of the Youtube or Reddit stories, I read one yesterday about a guy with 5 kids, none of them were his after 27 years of marriage, his wife was screwing his cousin while he worked 80 hour weeks to provide for his family. don't be that guy. You can pass it off as checking for Birth Defects or ask the doctor quietly but do it now before your on the hook for another mans child.

who mentioned race as a factor? I didn't so therefore how can I be "racist" I hold the companies that do it, the politicians that enable it and the scum that profit from it responsible not the workers themselves. I could care less if the worker is Indian, Cambodian or south African all I care about is the fact that an American worker who did everything right, got their education, got their industry certs, put in the time and got the experience to be paid a 6-figure salary has gotten screwed by the country that’s supposed to be on their side. There should be a much lower number of H1-B workers allowed and only for jobs that are in very high demand in scientific or technical fields not hotels and service industry jobs. I want to see our American work force put first for a change instead of competing on a global scale with laws that tip it in the foreigner’s favor.

I work in the tech feild so don't expect any sympathy from me. These workers come in and take jobs that were held by American citizens because the companies want to save some bucks. Disney was the first to really go all in by firing it's tech teams and then telling them they have to train their replacments if they want any type of severence.

A job that would normally pay out 100K a year is being given to the H1-B workers for less than half taht at more like 40K. It's great for the companies that save big on salaries but screws the American work force. Now they're learning just how disposable they really are. Have a plesant flight back to India.

I have no idea where your at but there's tons of gaming shops around that have message boards for all kinds of games. There's also groups on the meetup website for VA that's how I found my current group. Don't be discouraged if you don't get an immediate response because the holidays are stupid for trying to coordinate a game. Good Luck.

Depending on how you feel about the venue there are some lovely Plantation venues in and around the Richmond area that could easily accommodate your guests and budget. Some couples are leery of the term Plantation but the venues are very nice.

The job numbers speak for themselves. Women are clamoring for the upper level higher paying jobs and demanding all kinds of equal access but look at the dangerous jobs like sewage inspectors, truck drivers, most of the trades like carpenter, electrician etc and you don't see laws being passed to make sure they have access to those.

Lets take a look at the IT industry, women are being channeled into those careers thanks to clubs like Girls who Code and other well meaning education initiatives but the highest turn over rate and job dissatisfaction are from the women in those industry's because they don't find the work fulfilling. Sure they CAN do them and do them well but they don't like them and so they leave. Jobs are being withheld from qualified male candidates to reserve them for women who wont be happy in them and wont stay.

This isn't sexism this is straight up numbers from the dept. of labor and other sources about why women leave the IT industry after so much work has been spent to try and retain them.

" But none of that seems to matter here in Virginia. Most don't seem to see past gender and skin color here." < That sounds about right around here. Men are still expected to do the heavy lifting not JUST because we're men but also because it's expected because of tradition. Remember the modern feminist wants all the benefits of the old traditions such as opening doors, doing the heavy lifting, doing the "gross" jobs etc but don't call them on it or else it's sexism.

In all honesty it sounds like you've already burned your bridges there and have a black mark so I'd think about looking for something else soon before annual reviews come around.

If you've got the cred that you say you do check out job postings for equity and inclusion officers or look in the Northern VA area for someone in need of your skill set.

Good luck.

I can't speak for the state government but I'd like to ask if your in predominantly women led environment like teaching or social work or nursing where women out number men by a significant margin? Can you switch to a more even gendered office or a career that is predominantly male?
