Didn't sleep at all. Taking doggy to her cancer screening today. 😭 Then I have to pretend to work. I've been working on my deep breathing techniques but mostly I just want to kick things and flip around my hair yelling "PONYTAIL!" in an aggressive manner.

I miss sleeping in. I don't think I've properly slept in since 2012. I've also been failing to get more than 6-7 hours of sleep for weeks now and it seems like it will catch up with me eventually!

The SO is taking the boy up to grandma's for the night, so I will have the house to myself. It's gonna be risky business up in here! Except not really because I'm old and risk averse.

Went to Southbound for happy hour and was pleasantly surprised. It was busy and full of fancy old people, but the bar was nice and the homemade pasta is delicious.

Then we saw Cocaine Bear. That bear loved her some cocaine. She was still adorable.

Cocaine Bear at the grown up theater tonight. Happy hour with a girlfriend tomorrow night. Ass on couch on Sunday.

My doggy is sick again and this time seems bad. She had abnormal bloodwork yesterday, so next week they're going to be doing various things to rule out/in cancer. Poor ole girl.

I have eaten three meals of bread and cheese today, and then snacked on some bread and cheese. Can man live on bread and cheese alone?

My day, like all weekend days, will be taken up with intermittent dog walks because I can't tire out my 10 year-old husky otherwise. If only I was a person who runs. Someone should start a business where they get paid to take dogs on their regular runs. My dog doesn't need a 30 minute casual stroll; bitch needs some 7 minute miles.

I'm old, chunky, and have creaky knees, so it's probably not going to be me.

We had dinner at Uliveto, and man, that was kind of disappointing. I was so excited to try it. Service at the bar was not great, not to mention they have one too many stools at the bar so that no one can actually eat comfortably. Do you love eating with your elbow in someone else's armpit? Then the bar is your place!

The food was ok, but I didn't feel it was markedly better than any other "Italian" restaurant in Richmond. Except the leek bruschetta was delicious. Maybe they'll work out the kinks, but if I'm dropping almost $200 on dinner for two, they need to improve either the experience or the food.

Trying to decide how much I should be in public. My parents were with us during the first half of the week and my dad tested positive for covid on Wednesday night. We'd last seen him Wednesday morning (at which point, he tested negative - with flying and a potential exposure four days prior, they were being extra cautious around us).

We're 72 hours out without symptoms and I tested negative, but it's weird how in the first half of this pandemic, we would have been expected to stay home for ten days and now we're told to just go out into the world and watch for symptoms. I don't want to make other people sick! I know three older people who have died this month from covid.

I hope it turns out great! I usually prefer rojo just because I love the flavor of guajillos so much, but all pozole is delicious. I love how simple it is, but at the same time so many complex flavors and textures with all the accoutrements. We had tamales earlier, so we're feliz navidading it up like crazy over here!

Making pozole and watching the footballs. The Vikes won earlier, so I'm satisfied. SKOL! I just made an arbol salsa that will burn your eyebrows off. Santa loves salsa.

We went on a tacky lights tour with friends. Drank too much bourbon. Now home cozy with the dog eating a very fancy Red Baron pizza. It's Always Sunny Christmas episode on the TV while my man is drifting off on the couch. Christmas fire on the LCD computer screen in the corner. Bubbles in my cup. Radiator heat keeping us warm.

Merry fucking Christmas RVA.

I want the weather to cooperate and covid/flu to stay away so my folks can fly in on Christmas day.

And also world peace.

Am also sick (not covid) and it is not a good time. I wonder how my body can produce this much snot. I'm on Day 3 of feeling bad. I'm grateful it has not thus far turned into a terrible cough as I already had an 8 week covid cough once this year.

Quiet Thanksgiving at home with my boys and our doggy. Just ate a piece of Whisk chocolate pecan pie, which was tasty and chock full o nuts.

Rest of the night will be watching the Vikes game with a bourbon (or two) and trying not to think about work. Drama free day for us!

Like Moose said, it's called Killa Dillas. I have a picture of the menu. They just opened this week so they are definitely still figuring things out. https://imgur.com/a/r5lIpFO

The quesadillas we had were delicious. I would skip the pico and chips though as it was pretty bland. If you like things spicy, ask them to add jalapenos.
