I really like Laufey. She used to live in DC and recorded one of her albums while living here. A true pioneer driving today’s young folks towards modern jazz. She recently did some collaborations with the Philharmonic Orchestra as well.

Free garage at work! Love it. Permit pass for street parking. Bought an older used car. Small, so it fits anywhere. No car payments and cheap insurance.

Reply to Did you drive drunk on Christmas? by dataminimizer
Last year I was on my way home from my parents house and coming down Tilden by the park. I saw a guy laying on the floor with a helmet 20 feet down the road, and a Revel scooter beside him. I pulled over to make sure he was okay, but a few minutes later his friends pulled up in a car and drove him away. I hope they took him to the hospital, he seemed to be in shock, but no major injuries. He did complain about some shoulder pain though.
Be safe y’all. He was definitely intoxicated.

I’ll admit for me it’s more word-of-mouth. Jammin’ with friends I’ve made at open mics mostly. Gives me the idea to start a meetup group though.

I think it’s about finding groups of people that share similar interests or activities. For me, it’s run clubs, music meetups/open mics, and photography clubs. That being said, we’re lucky to be in a time where people respect boundaries. I’ve never been pressured to drink, even if I’m at a bar or social event. Most places have mock-tails now too, which make those kinds of places feel less awkward to me.
I’m having a great time in DC and I’m sure you will too!

It’s absolutely maddening. Was driving down admo at a safe speed and this SUV barrels around me and nearly hits a women with a stroller at the crosswalk.
These idiots have no chill and for what?! To get to some stupid destination 10 seconds earlier? It really pisses me off. Fuck all disrespectful drivers.

Love me some buredo. But also how did she know how to find you? How’d she know you had mutual friends? Did you have a conversation and was it the first time you ever met? I’m heavily invested in this mystery.

I felt the same way. I think OP just needs to find a cause to support. There are dozens of small protests a year, or other ways to contribute to a greater movement.
