I've heard talks of a new distribution center between Richmond and NoVA to accommodate an aggressive expansion schedule focused on the East Coast. Assuming any of that is true, I imagine more Richmond locations are an inevitability.

I made a sizeable reservation for the park that same night and called ahead to verify we would have an option to move inside if (when) the rain came down and the hostess confirmed with the manager we were covered. We ended up at another spot knowing the scenario would play out the way you described. Felt good sitting at that alternative spot enjoying wine when I got the text that they were unlikely to accommodate us based on the developing situation.

and, uh, anyways, let's see what else I-I, uh it was coney island they called coney island the playground of the world, there was no place like it in the whole world—like coney island when I was a youngster no place in the world like it, it was so fabulous now it's shrunk down to almost nothing, you see
and I still remember in my mind how things used to be and, you know, I feel very bad, but people from all over the world came here, from all over the world it was the playground they called it the playground of the world over here
anyways, uh, you see, I, uh, you know I even got, when I was, uh, when I was very small I even got lost at coney island, but they found me..
on the, on, on the beach
and we used to sleep on the beach here, sleep overnight they, uh, they don't do that anymore things changed, you see
they don't sleep anymore on the beach

Atmosphere actually facilitates conversation at the Verdant Lady, whereas the Jasper in the evening needs a volume adjustment. Owner of the Verdant Lady is mad cool too.
Virago has some great cocktails, as does Little Nickel. Nick @ McCormack's on Robinson is a consummate professional behind the bar. Cocktails at Sabai aren't bad at all.
For the true RVA feel you should probably stumble from Bamboo to 3 Monkeys before crawling to Strawberry Street Market and buying whatever you can reach before someone drags your corpse to Scuffletown to round off the night.

The concept of meat shaped vegetables is absolutely stupid. Going out to eat or sourcing veg(an) friendly alternatives is not monetarily incentivized. Is animal agriculture that big of a machine that it equalizes the profit margins which necessitate the price of acceptable meat to be so low and veg alternatives so high? To generate a similar price at restaurants, grocery stores or other sources feels like price gouging for the sake of being able to do it. Does an impossible burger equate to a steak in terms of cost of production and a McSandwich to a bag of salad in veg world? Surely not.
As a non meat eater for environmental reasons, I find it ridiculous that the mental appeasements that exist out there for satiating carnivorous desires cost the same or more in comparison to animal products. Maybe denormalizing the idea of vegetables reformed into meat simulations is a good first step at drying out the demand for these products, thus forcing the price to drop? It just seems silly. Or we have reached peak societal complacency and whatever is determinably the price for these things is fair so the machine is further lubricated by consumer money for the detriment and eventual doom of us all.

Massey provides a packet full of resources including support groups and though I can't recall if they are family/friends inclusive it doesn't seem unreasonable to assume that—cancer format dependent—there wouldn't be some variety of therapeutic safety net available to the extended network of the individual.

I believe even if all of the signs "have fallen off" on the entirety of the block in question the tow is still legit.
Was there a period with an unusual lacking of parked cars on your street today? If so it's possible there was street cleaning. There's also a resource somewhere on the city website with a schedule or at least there was last year.
If your car is newer and has a spoofable key fob that you keep near your front door—my neighbor had that experience a few nights ago. How bizarre.

I always recommend Little Nickel when restaurant threads pop up, but depending on the evening it is my experience that the crowd can be extroverted to the extent of a lack of intimacy. It's a great spot though.
Additionally there is Sabai, Sens and Stella's that might be what you're looking for, or Dinamo to avoid alliteration.
Edit: you might also run into reservation obstacles at any of these depending on the timing of your visit, or not
