There's a LOT of dental professionals and the ADA that have been pushing for legislation to include dental as part of health insurance because what happens in your mouth affects the rest of your HEALTH. Your eyes and teeth are not separate from the rest of your body and shouldn't be classified as so with insurance.

FWIW, Sheetz is by far the best paying place for this type of work in my area in NW PA. Obviously, it could still be better, but it is a much better option than any other customer service type of job here

I just shopped around for a crown. My insurance covered half of the cost, which i was quoted between $1.4 k - $2.5 k. $500 is definitely a far underestimation, which further supports the point you are making. This system is fucked.

Orthodontist on TikTok says he graduated with 1 million in student loans. Not sure if that's normal, but it sounds like trickle down economics to me. Charge the dentist a million to get a job, they charge $1500 for crowns.

Or maybe their spending their money on other health issues, have you seen the price of insulin or other diabetes medication oh not to mention chrons and uc meds are expensive. Or maybe just maybe their putting their money in the gas tank or on a table things are definitely not the same as they used to be 🙂

Wouldn’t fairly compensated be the wage in which two parties agree to? If they pay $1 an hour, nobody will do it. If they pay $100 an hour, everybody will apply for it. There’s a balance point there. Nobody is forcing anybody to take that job. Especially in the time where in now where employees are in high demand. If you want a job that pays enough for good dental coverage, go apply to those jobs instead.

That's the only culture here. We have no culture. I've worked with people from Taiwan, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, Azerbaijan, and so on. I'm told the same thing by all of them, that America's literally only known for working themselves to death for no reason. Only 2 out of all the people I've worked with have stuck around here. The rest went back to their home country after working here extended periods of time. The "culture" here is work until you can't and then you're of no use so just go die in a hole somewhere, but make sure not somewhere inconvenient that might make another worker late.
We work for NOTHING here. We get nothing in return with our labor other than funneling money to the top 1%. No mandated vacation, no paid maternity/paternity time, no public health insurance, no access to affordable education, affordable child care, no NOTHING.

Technically most places don't even legally have to give breaks. I worked in management in Pennsylvania and people would complain all the time about the brake system about how long by law that they were supposed to get so I really looked into it. Other than being a minor, they do not have to give you breaks. It's insane they absolutely just do not care and we all allow it. I can remember being in my late teens and through my twenties and even most of my 30s where I was so afraid to get in trouble at work or do something to piss off my job so you come in on all those extra shifts and you try to be indispensable and then something is going to happen in your life and you're going to realize that you mean nothing to them. Jobs like to tell you when you mess up but never when you do good because they want you to constantly try to be their idea of perfect and then it's no wonder everyone here has anxiety and is on depression medication. No one feels like they can succeed at anything.

And Sheetz lines are short because they have self checkout screens, and if there's more than 3 people in line for smokes/beer, they open another checkout line.
Which GetGo just can't fricken figure out. I've had lone cashiers just go on break with nobody coming out to take over. I don't blame the employees, but I do blame the shitty management.

Sounds like you are a miserable person that hates their job and life.
In the past, I've know people that have worked at Chick-fil-a, and they've very much enjoyed their time serving the customers and learning valuable skills. Employees get flexible hours (closed Sundays), competitive pay and 401k benefits, health insurance, vacation pay, developmental training, etc. It's a good job depending on the stage in your life.

Read an excellent article in readers digest a few years back. Guy went to 50 dentists in 50 different states. His buddy was a dentist and told him he had 1 bad tooth that needed a filling only. Well, this guy got quotes as high as 25K! Dentists told him he needed full mouth repair and everyone was recommending root canals... dentists used to make money with fillings but today's kids have a significant decline in decay due to fluoride in water. There is no governing body to regulate what they charge or oversee their practice. Moral of the story? Get 2nd opinions and if u find a dentist u like and trust, stick with him!
