Definitely Mexican Villa. 😂
Hemingway's seems like it would fit. And several places in Branson.
Blacksheep.
Overpriced underwhelming burgers and milkshakes too messy to enjoy.
Or the burgers are just shit
Fun fact the owners are also super transphobic. They also own char, flame and xan
Panera, metropolitan grill, Springfield brewing company.
Metropolitan Grill for sure.
Hemingway’s. Mexican Villa. Black Sheep. That Lebanese Place is just fucking disgusting. El Charro is a joke unless you’re there for cheap margaritas. El Primos is so-so. Nakato is gross and just a shoddy show bar. Springfield Family Restaurant, if it’s still open. Bonus: Piccolo in Nixa unless you like a pound of sugar in your spaghetti sauce. Otherwise it’s alright.
Home Depot. I bought a bag of nuts there and they were totally inedible. And the whole time I was trying to eat the lady behind the counter kept yelling "Oh my god, what are you doing, you can't eat those!" And then I broke a tooth on top of it. Just terrible.
I don't get the mexican villa hate, I love it.
…I recommend trying that Lebanese Place again. Best Mediterranean in town imo.
Perhaps I will. But my wife and I are Lebanese and North African, and I’m here to tell you that unless the dude fired himself and his wife, it’s a gross caricature of what Lebanese food should be. The only thing he had going for him, last I was there, was that we could speak to each other in Arabic.
All of which are also overrated.
I loved this place. Pricey yes.
The burgers are great IMO
Van Gogh’s. Don’t know how that place stays in business.
It’s high priced for what it is 😅
Whaaaaat?
This. I'm not sure what type of food it is but it's not Mexican.
It's 1950's texmex mellowed to the Midwestern palette then frozen in time. It is cool for what it is.
People hate on it because it's not "authentic."
What they don't get is that it is authentic, it's just not authentic MEXICAN. It's authentic, old-school diner style texmex.
If your enemies trust you enough to take restaurant recommendations from you….maybe you’re the enemy
i do love to watch the world burn - but honestly i’m just trying to compile a list of “bad” restaurants to go with my sister to so we can rate them as a sibling bonding thing LOL
I really didn’t love it either but maybe I just ordered something bad.
Archie's Italian Eatery.
Yeah, it's pretty high priced for sure.
Ate a burger covered in so much shit, it literally made me lose my appetite.
I love Van Gogh’s
The authenticity isn't my issue, it's the bland and way over dried out ground beef. The food is not prepared well at all. It's honestly lower quality than taco bell
Fair enough lol
No, it’s all terrible.
then owning zan actually explains a lot. could not figure out why that club was always so shady but there it is
This is good to know. Not normal restaurants I go to, but I meant to try flame. Now I won’t.
Awwww. This is great and something I’d do with my brother if he didn’t live a 24 hr drive away.
Too bad Great American Taco is done.......
fire and ice
Their tofu scramble is great, but there are a few things on their menu that I hate. Specifically the mussels.
Honestly haven’t had any mussels in town I really loved. Would love some recommendations if anyone has any.
Disagree. Greek Belly is better. That Lebanese Place was not good when I went there.
Kai after dark was rough.
Service was terrible on top of it.
Piccolo? Seriously? Some of your recommendations they’re gonna go to and be like “wtf this is good shit”
We hate in it because it’s awful lol
Hemingway’s, Mexican Villa, Scrambler’s Diner, Ziggie’s Cafe (not over-priced, just shit), and Springfield Brewing Company. That’s all I can think of right now.
Basilico Italian Cafe. Paid 16 bucks for 6 shitty ravioli
They’re absolutely disgusting. Worst pasta I’ve ever eaten inside the city of Springfield.

I love Mexican Villa, burrito enchiladas style for life
Taco Habitat
Flame
100% this. Overpriced, hate their commercials, foods bland to mediocre on a good day. -5/10
Well they will be happy with Piccolo if they like sugary marinara sauce.
Brew co has the best fried chicken sandwich in town
shrugs and continues to enjoy his burrito enchilada style
It's not really overpriced, but considering portion and just overall quality, Triple Eights Chinese food. The ONLY benefit from this place is the drive-through, but don't let the awards fool you the quality has gone down so much recently. Go to the Riksha or New China on N. Kansas, those are great and have good portions for your buck.
I like the El Charro in Ozark and only go to that one. Try that one if Springfield wasn't good
Easily Tinga Tacos downtown. Like 10$ for 2 little tacos that aren't filled much and weren't great. Not sure how anyone justifies going there.
I’ve eaten there more than I can count & I’ve never experienced anything close to bad food there. Always hot, fresh & delicious!
For the win. Although to be fair, most of the modern taco places are way overpriced.
Agree. Piccolos is always delicious and the owners are both sweethearts.
Black sheep used to be good when it first got rolled out but definitely regressed.
olive garden.
Nearly famous, it's all unseasoned microwaved garbage from sysco. I'm suprised they've been open this long
Last time I was there, the appetizer I got was so fucking salty lol
The Springfield Brew Company lost my business many years ago when the server took a salad for a togo box. I was able to view it spilling on the bar counter, the he picked it up with bare hands to fill the container. We told him to keep the salad for this reason. 😞
Missouri Mike's BBQ. The BBQ is fine, a bit dry but inoffensive, but it has to be the most expensive BBQ around. Then I gave them another shot and got the prime rib, which was one of the most mid things I've ever put in my mouth and significantly more expensive than Jimm's.
Went there once and the ground beef was dog food quality and more expensive than taco bell which is somehow better
Username checks out
Came here to say this…worst lasagna I’ve ever had. If they can’t make it on their own, go to Sam’s and buy stacks.
When you walk in and the rug is sticky and the bar reeks of desperation, you know you’re in for a fine dining experience.
LAMBERTS CAFE
Tower Club... lol
Hemingways mentioned twice, needs a total revamp, menu is all over the place
They served my 9 year old niece a shake with broken glass in it.
Big Whiskeys, The Hill, Getting Basted, Split Social Kitchen.
awe damn well if he ever comes to visit and wants to try shitty food with u for the lolz- u have a list my friend
I agree. I had terrible service and the food was just… not good to say the least.
You enjoy cold pancakes?
There is one server there who is fantastic…he remembers us every time we visit and he is super friendly and remembers our favorite orders. He is only there for dinner service though.
Funny, when I've been there they were great.
Their menu is a bit hit or miss, but what they do well they do really well.
What was it do I can avoid it ?

I got to go with my fiance for a company dinner and it was honestly depressing. It was obviously under construction/remodel and the whole restaurant smelled like chlorine on account of having seating/being next to the indoor pool. The calamari was chewy and the risotto was mushy, the salads were soggy. We were a table of 8 so not really even that many people. The best part of it was the pomegranate martini and even that was incredibly weak
I disagree totally, underrated and always fresh. Last place I would think of as being a Sysco chain delivery.
Also, like 5 dollar sushi rolls that you can sit down and eat until like midnight. So it's got that going for it.

Not high priced but I say Mexican Villa
