Heard those too - me and a friend were out by 4th and Union St and they could have been more than a block or two away. First time since living in DC I’ve been that close to a shooting.

Hit me softer that I feared this year but still has me feeling more sullen than I’d hoped. Still, I’ve come to appreciate how easy it is to find things in DC that can cheer you up during the wintertime.

Could also check if any bus lines near you start running around 6, that can at least get you closer to DCA and knock down the price of an Uber. That’s what I ended up having to do when I found this same thing out - the morning of my flight.

The CVS closest to Franklin Square (14th and G, or H?) has been the only one that’s been consistent for me ever since moving here. Also could depend on your generic brand and dose, but mine are 10g if that’s of any help.

Damn, sounds like late 19th century DC was quite the party town. I’d say it still is to this day, even though the rest of the country doesn’t really realize it.
