I can vouch for Jean’s Auto in Merrimack on the DW Highway. I don’t live near there anymore but they were always straight shooters every time I took my car there and explained everything in detail. Small mom and pop shop just a minute over the Bedford-Merrimack town line.

My SO and I go to the Inn at Ellis River in Jackson every February and we always have a wonderful time.

You overestimate how much the average NH voter cares about this issue.

We just had an election last month in which the Democratic gubernatorial candidate was vocally in favor of legalization and he lost… by a lot.

Same thing happened to me last winter and I spoke to the leasing office. Problem solved.

I rent a 800 sq ft apartment on the Seacoast. My rent went up $30 this past June. I consider myself quite fortunate!

May just be perception, but it seems there has certainly been increased violent crime in New Hampshire this year. It’s certainly unnerving and I don’t think I’m alone.

Fair enough, I’m just used to America on the whole being nuts. NH, not so much!

This general vibe in this state is just a little bonkers lately.

Yeah the Ferncroft area is just quintessential rural New England goodness. Absolutely beautiful.

For the sake of argument, I’d call this area decidedly central NH.

Honestly, if you have to ask this, you probably aren’t suited to doing this hike right now.

There could be feet of snow, there could be no snow. It could be deadly cold or relatively mild. It could be all of these things in one afternoon. If you’re new to winter hiking, Washington is not the place to start.

If you want to go up that way and give winter hiking a try, I’d recommend Mount Jackson. It’s got great views and is in the Presidentials, but tree line (aka safety and shelter) is easily within reach. For what it’s worth, there is no snow anywhere in the Whites right now.

That’s a pretty tame hike in comparison to all the rest, you should definitely be able to get it done, even with a little snow. Good luck!

There are so many better easily-hiked-to views that don’t feature an interstate highway! I don’t get the appeal of Artist’s Bluff.
