I'd have left. I have a rule that I will never attempt to argue my way into a restaurant. If they show even slight resistance to the idea of seating me, I'm gone. Immediately.

They're booked solid and I have no reservation? That's on me, I won't argue. I'm gone.

They have some weird, stupid policy that makes them not want to seat me like in OP's story? I'm gone just as fast. Except in that case I won't be back.

I did too. Virginia is an absolute nightmare as a renter. The laws in this state are so slanted in favor of landlords it's absurd/obscene. You are absolutely 100% at their mercy with little to no recourse if they decide to fuck you. A couple winters with a broken heat pump and a big annual rent increase as a cherry on top was all the motivation I needed.

I've visited New Orleans a few times on just some random weekends. It seems like there's plenty of opportunities for drunken mayhem there year round. I can only imagine packing the place with amateur drunks.

I'm on vacation in Nairobi, Kenya. It's about 78 today. I'm flying home tonight so I thought I'd check the sub to see how everything is going. 5 degrees? I really hope there's no fuckery with my flights home. I'm laying over in NY and I only packed a sweatshirt!

Richmond is an old city with narrow streets, It's really not built for big trucks. They do what they can to get their jobs done. Sure it can be annoying but it is what it is. Businesses can't function if they don't get deliveries and all those businesses are what makes city life enjoyable. Just gotta roll with it sometimes.
