If you are going where the line is you are in the wrong place. Use the lower concourse to board. I even ask the seating area attendant what the track number is going to be if it’s around 12 minutes before departure and the track number hasn’t been officially put out. 9/10 times they have the information on their screen and I head down there to step on the second the doors open.

Even without knowing the trick to ask the track number early, it baffles me to see people waiting in a winding line by the escalator. It’s Penn Station! There are soooo many ways on to a given platform, why does (almost) everyone stand at a single entry point like it’s an airport. (And why does Amtrak encourage that? I like the train because I can roll up and step right on)

Paris has designated parking spots for them all over. Pretty convenient too cause then you know where to find them. And you can fit a ton of these in one or two car parking spots.

And it’s pretty harshly enforced. You have to take a picture of the scooter in the spot and if you don’t do it you will get a big ticket.

Ehhh mixing zones are kind subpar imo. Though they are better than having the turn lane right next to the bike lane. Ideally the turn lane is far enough away from the bike lane that a driver in a turning car can look to the side and see bikes coming without using mirrors.

This is the case on some intersections on some streets but for some reason they don’t implement everywhere on new bike lanes.

This is the proposal to expand what they are currently doing up to 58th? Nice. Making quick work of this. Good job DOT, I just wish they did two traffic lanes. There is currently two traffic lanes in the construction zone and it’s not like there is a traffic doomsday (don’t really care if there was).. so just keep it. If it works on 8th Ave, why can’t it work on 9th.

Oh man what about all the cars that use Broadway! What about all the cars that used to use the (now bike lane) lane on the Brooklyn Bridge! What about all the cars that use all the lanes on 1st Ave, 2nd Ave, 3rd Ave, 5th Ave, 6th Ave, Lexington, Madison! We can’t possibly add bike lanes, bus lanes, and more pedestrian space in exchange for some car lanes! What about all the cars that use the elevated West Side Highway! What about all the cars that drive through Central Park! Obviously once space has been surrendered to cars it can never ever be taken back, that’s unthinkable. (everything mentioned here was not for cars, then given to cars, then taken back)
