Unlikely, considering the once-daily-each-direction Vermonter doesn't (outside of major problems)) do overnight6 runs and doesn't have sleeper cars in the consist. The closest it gets to Okemo is Bellows Falls and the best anyone could hope for would be a shuttle bus making the trip up and down 103 to connect to the Amtrak route. Even Killington doesn't justify more than a shuttle from Rutland when the Ethan Allen goes through. I don't think anyone sees enough potential return on investment from building a Jackson Gore station, upgrading the infrastructure, and conning anyone into running scheduled passenger service.

Following the reference:Saf-C 1005.01 Knowledge Examination: Description.(a) The knowledge examination shall consist of up to 50 multiple choice questions designated by the director, according to the class of driver license(s) requested by the applicant.(b) Each question shall have multiple answers, only one which is correct.(c) Each question shall focus on the New Hampshire motor vehicle laws according to the class of driver license(s) requested by the applicant.

Which one can probably take to mean "anything under RSA 265 is fair game" since there aren't many rules of the road specific to mopeds (the "no riding motorcycles sidesaddle was a minor surprise, although it makes sense).

Other than that, there only seems to be the generic stuff at https://www.dmv.nh.gov/drivers-licensenon-driver-ids/driver-licensing-testing-requirements

Actually, they do. Because of how the financing and tax credits were done the city had to transfer ownership to an independent corporation and then lease it back. The tax bills for the past several years can be pulled from the city's web site (the Citizen Service Request section). The assessment's low because of when it was done, but will likely be updated for the next tax year.

One thing to consider about Newbury (the town) is that which part you live in determines the school. Newbury (the village) uses Newbury Elementary and Oxbow (the combined junior/senior high school), and Wells River (another village within the Town of Newbury) uses the PreK-12 Blue Mountain. When Act 46 was in flight there was talk about folding Blue Mountain into Oxbow but what was in the state meeting minutes amounted to "let's wait and see if Bradford and Newbury actually start to like each other before adding BM to the cluster and figuring out which buildings to close and how to split the grades"

I have a niece and nephew at Oxbow HS and another niece graduated last year. There's an active drama club, but the music program barely remains. There are definitely the usual "small school" issues with finding ways to challenge the potential superstars.

Other than homebody type stuff, if you're a musician there are a bunch of community bands in the region which are almost always looking for fresh blood, even if it's someone who needs to blow the dust out of their instrument. If we were having a normal winter there'd be cross country skiing and snowshoeing within easy reach.

Storm supplies are a Good Thing to have, especially if you're out in the boonies and may be stuck for a few days.

As far as filling the tub, depending on where you are in the state you may be surrounded by water several inches deep, just not in liquid form. Guess what, you also have refrigeration if the power craps out for a while.

Since you have a backup heat source you don't have to worry *as much* about leaving a faucet trickling. In a pinch, your heating oil goes by another name: diesel (my stepfather in Vermont regularly has to run the furnace on diesel because the oil truck driver won't go down an ice-sheeted driveway).

Speaking of ice, you've been warned about black ice, right?

Luckily your first winter here is a mild one so far. This weekend will just give you a taste of what it's like when the temps don't climb out of the single digits for over a week.

Big city person trying to shift paradigms without a clutch and going full rural (which is often entertaining) aside , If you're looking for highway access to get to NJ, you'd be better off looking more toward the Connecticut River since I-91 gives you a much straighter shot, and White River Junction even has a daily train which goes to New Jersey.

Pray the driver didn't get aggravated enough to take your plate down, call it in, and swear out the affidavit, since you missed all of the signs of a stopping bus (flashing amber lights and the slowing of a gigantic bright yellow bus at least, never mind the flashing reds which may well have been active before the sign flipped out). Outside cameras may not be usable because of the bus company/municipality relationship and the ban on the use of cameras for traffic enforcement.

The state's site says "Under 20" drivers can get the 20 day suspension for underage bonehead awards and you're 20 so you should be okay there. You can still get hit with 6 points (SAF-C-200), a $750 fine (RSA 265:54), and a rather unpleasant note from your insurance company (how many years to get your safe driver bonus back?).

It's rather difficult for one branch of the state government to hold the other two in contempt; it's not like the Supreme Court can lock the General Court and governor in their respective spaces until everyone agrees on something which won't cause *someone* to head right back to a lawyer's office.

Also, with the Claremont decision the state is required to fund an adequate education but "adequate" was left undefined, leading to years of squabbles around how much this nebulous concept of adequacy costs and what adequacy is in the first place. Remember, the Supremes only declared the old funding method unusable, they didn't (and couldn't) dictate the whats and hows of any new method.

Yup. My 40 year old house is still running with the original electric stove in the kitchen. The timer and clock have been shot for years but it still makes food hot when I need it to. There's no need to replace it with some overengineered electronically controlled glass top which will tell me the temperature to within a tenth of a degree on three scales, call my mother in law when I make one of her favorite recipes better than she does, send my phone a ding when there's one minute left, and shatter if I put my 7qt cast iron Dutch oven down wrong.

By the same token the break even point on new thermally efficient oversized windows is likely beyond the point where I'll be living here. I'll stick with storms and screens and hold the inner windows up with paint sticks while I'm at it. In fifteen years my gas bill for heat, hot water, and clothes dryer hasn't been about $1K.

Yes, you can tell them to pound sand. It'll just make it harder to successfully appeal your assessment if you don't like it. Nashua just wrapped up a three year "list a nd measure" reassessment and a significant fraction of homeowners refused entry.

That doesn't make it the problem of the *board of selectmen* (If you're going to grouse, at least learn what you're grousing about). None of them are obligated to vote for any legislation. Failing to check that the plumbing was working before taking the keys may work against you, but as others have said: lawyer up because you may have cause of action against the developer. You could also talk to the town's well water committee, which you'll find if you do the search referenced in an earlier comment or go to the town's web site.

Oh, wow... so much wrong here.

No call to the police with a rear-ender possibly caused by impairment? Ouch.

Looking for payment methods just a few hours later, almost certainly before he's had a chance to go through the reporting process with the police, his employer, and his employer's insurance? You expect reading your "hours later" texts aren't likely to be the top priority in his life?

You realize that insurance payouts can take weeks or months while the insurance companies and their lawyers work things out, right? Never mind that they wouldn't know how much to pay out until you've gotten your damage estimates.

You obviously have a rather delusional idea of how long it takes to go through the process. When my wife got rear ended about a decade ago it took well over a year for the game to be played, which involved ignored letters, court dates, and even the other driver having a bench warrant issued.

Payment details arranged within hours... riiiiiiight.
