A bunch of us local guys told eversource we weren't working Christmas without incentive pay for the holiday and eversource told us if we weren't working Christmas we can't work tomorrow or Saturday either. So like 30-40% of the local guys won't even be starting to help until Monday. This one is going to take a while if it's bad

We're not allowed to touch the comms lines when we do electrical work. Frontier and most other comms companies are so understaffed that they can't keep up even with hiring contractors. And they will definitely openly lie and say they haven't been notified of a pole needing transfered because it's cheaper for them to ignore it and eat the fine. We have entire crews that exist just to go around and pull the old pole butts out of the ground. When I was a part of one at least 30% of the poles we arrived at were poles frontier told us were ready to be pulled that had not yet been transfered.

Always apply. A big part of unemployment is that it's a financial deterrent to employers doing exactly this. It's entirely possible that your wife did indeed violate company policy. Shady employers often require violating company policy in order to do the job specifically so they can fire you at any time while having a reason to do so. That doesn't make her intelligible for unemployment.

I'm not a pro. But I am pretty sure you're thinking of a torsion spring, which ops door doesn't have. On ops style door the springs are to the sides and are completely slack when the door is up. It's 2 completely different systems. One is very dangerous, the other you would have to actively try to get hurt by and even then it would be minor.
